The annual Prep Hoops Iowa Expo took place in Des Moines on Saturday afternoon, with approximately 100 players from the sophomore through senior classes taking the floor. Myself, Eliot Clough, and Healey Hill were in attendance throughout the event taking notes on every player in attendance, and we'll have a slew of coverage coming throughout the next week. I was primarily responsible for covering Teams 1, 2, 9, and 10, while Eliot handled Teams 5, 6, and 8, and Healey had Teams 3, 4, and 7.

An active, physical 6-4 big man with great hands, Basurto was probably the best rebounder of the four teams that I was tasked with covering. He does a great job making strong contact on his box outs, rebounds both in and out of his area, and is relentless on the offensive glass, routinely getting easy buckets by cleaning up misses. He runs the floor well, beating his defender in transition, and he's a good enough ball-handler that he can lead the break after pulling down a defensive board.

A big body who showed the ability to play as a point-forward throughout the afternoon, Mutombo was also excellent on the glass on both ends of the floor throughout the event. He uses his big frame to clear out space, has big, soft hands, and great touch around the rim. He was really good on the glass, but may have been even more impressive with his playmaking off the dribble, getting his teammates involved by getting into the teeth of the defense and then finding open teammates for quality looks.

Burke is a long, bouncy forward who does a great job running the floor and using his athleticism to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He has a really good second jump that he uses to battle on the glass, tipping the ball until he's able to corral it. In addition to his work on the glass, he showed improved ball-handling and playmaking abilities off the dribble, taking slower-footed defenders off the bounce and finishing above the rim.

Herrig was one of the most impressive 2028 prospects in the gym on Saturday afternoon, standing out in a number of different ways on both ends of the floor. With a 6-4/6-5 frame, a big wingspan, a ton of athleticism, and soft hands, he was excellent on the glass on both ends, competing against bigger bodies for contested rebounds and pulling them down routinely. He's an adept ball-handler who can lead the break after pulling down a defensive board, and on the offensive end he showed the ability to score from all three levels as well as create for his teammates.

Myers is a physically imposing force in the paint, controlling the painted area on both ends of the floor. He rebounds really well, especially on the offensive end, showing a real nose for the ball and knack for understanding angles on missed shots. When the game slows down and becomes a halfcourt style, he can use his frame to carve out space on the block, but he's also capable of stepping out and stretching the floor with range out to the arc.
