Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Herrig was excellent for the Golden Eagles, scoring a game-high 17 points on 6-9 shooting (3-5 3P, 2-2 FT). A 6-4/6-5 wing with a pure stroke from the 3-point line, he was able to use his size to his advantage, shooting over smaller defenders. He’s an athletic wing who can play with or without the ball in his hands, showing some shot creation off the dribble as well as shooting it off the catch.
In addition to his scoring output, Herrig impacted the game in other ways, finishing with 7 rebounds, including several big offensive boards, 3 assists, and a steal.

Herrig was one of the most impressive 2028 prospects in the gym on Saturday afternoon, standing out in a number of different ways on both ends of the floor. With a 6-4/6-5 frame, a big wingspan, a ton of athleticism, and soft hands, he was excellent on the glass on both ends, competing against bigger bodies for contested rebounds and pulling them down routinely. He’s an adept ball-handler who can lead the break after pulling down a defensive board, and on the offensive end he showed the ability to score from all three levels as well as create for his teammates.

A young big man who can score inside and out, Herrig is a matchup problem with his combination of size, shooting, ball-handling, and footwork. He’s the type of skilled offensive player that the offense can flow through, as he sees the floor well and is a willing passer. Defensively he can defend just about every spot on the floor, using his length to make life difficult for smaller players, and his strength and toughness allow him to bang with bigger bodies.
