This past weekend, I watched the Beantown Slam Fall League quarterfinals. The league, which plays its games at the Quincy YMCA, has both prep and public programs in it, with tons of talent across the board.

Read: Beantown Slam Quarterfinals: guards who impressed

Read: Beantown Slam Quarterfinals: upperclassmen who impressed

With that being said, here are some breakout candidatea from the quarterfinals games.

I'm unsure whether Leese will start for Nobles this season, but the freshman has more potential than anyone else on their squad. The 6-foot-6 wing is a phenomenal shooter who has one of the quicker releases I've seen for a guy his size at his age. He's also a surprisingly good closeout attacker and is more athletic and feisty on the boards than you'd think given his body type and age. As he continues to grow and mature physically, his skillset will shine through even more. All three levels of college basketball are on the table for Leese, who could make a big time impact towards the end of this season for a really solid Nobles team.

Charchaflian is an incredibly impressive sophomore guard who's improving quite rapidly. The 6-foot guard is a really solid athlete and has great strength and control on drives to the hoop. He had a nasty spin move for a layup in Friday's quarterfinal matchup against Boston Latin Academy, but he also has a nice dribble pull up game in the mid range. Defensively, Charchaflian takes charges and is very tough on the ball. He will be a stud for Nobles this season and all levels of college basketball are on the table. He should also makes waves on the Middlesex Magic next spring.

Haynes is only 5-foot-11, but he makes up for his lack of size with incredible speed, quickness and conditioning. He blows by anyone whenever he wants, and he shows some really solid passing instincts once he punctures the paint. At the rim, the junior has a knack for double clutch finishes amongst the trees; he made multiple layups that he had no business even getting off. Defensively, Haynes plays his behind off and uses his lateral quickness and aggressive hands to his advantage. He'll be a star for Brookline this season and is a prime prep school reclass candidate.

Miranda has a really advanced skillset at the combo guard position. The 5-foot-11 guard is fundamentally sound with his handle and understands how to use angles in the pick and roll, and he really excels once he gets into the mid range. Despite his lack of size, he has a knack for getting middies off at a variety of angles and spots on the floor. Defensively, Miranda plays hard and can guard his position effectively. Some improvements to his rim reads and passing vision would be big for his development and college hopes.

Peltrop is a bouncy athlete who's raw but still does lots of things to help out a team right now. The 6-foot-3 sophomore gets off the floor incredibly quickly and has a special second jump, so he's difficult to keep off the boards. He's always around the ball and is consistently fighting for possessions. Once his skillset comes along—which I see happening within the next couple of years—he could be one of the better players in the MIAA. Even without a great jumper, he'll still score a solid number of points this season with his cutting and effort level.

This past weekend, I watched the Beantown Slam Fall League quarterfinals. The league, which plays its games at the Quincy YMCA, has both prep and public programs in it, with tons of talent across the board.
