The third installment of the Prep Hoops 2027 New Addition Report continues the tradition of spotlighting emerging talent across Maryland high schools. This update features a fresh wave of prospects who are quickly making their mark with impressive skillsets, versatility, and competitive spirit. As the season unfolds, these rising stars are not only impacting games but also raising the bar for what's expected from the region's next generation of basketball standouts.    [player_tooltip player_id='2912915' first='Tristan' last='Johnson']'s game is easy to appreciate the low-maintenance identity he brings to a team. Tristan is a lethal spot-up threat who does a phenomenal job of always playing to his strengths. He consistently gets to his spots, knocks down jumpers, and defends his position. Tristan has made strides at attacking closeouts and finishing or hitting shots off the bounce but is still at his best when applying pressure from beyond the arc. He's also willing to make the extra pass. Tristan is a high-IQ player. He knows how to play with or without the ball in his hands. He's very efficient from beyond the arc in catch-and-shoot situations. He has a good nose for the ball and will get his team second-chance points. Tristan seems to shine as a positive contributor in every setting and will remain a focal point for Bladensburg for the next two seasons.     [player_tooltip player_id='2548274' first='Xzavier' last='Mabone'] is a 5-foot-10 guard prospect. It was no surprise to see Mabone perform at a high level this fall at the Challenge event in York, Pennsylvania. He's a quick, crafty, polished guard with the ability to fill it up as a scorer from all levels. Mabone is a quality creator with the handle and vision to consistently generate clean looks for himself and others. Scrappy defender and quality rebounder for his size. Future development in Xzavier will be working to improve his transition defense, as it would make him a more complete player. Xzavier can get downhill and make the correct read. Lethal pull-up jumper from midrange and can get to his spots off the bounce. Scores the ball at all three levels. High-motor pest on defense. Strong and very physical. Gets paint touches at a high volume. Tough kid, very coachable.     Blackstone is a smart, hustling guard with a high motor, scrappy nature, and unselfish approach to the game. He's a capable shooting threat with the quickness and handle to make plays off the bounce. Will be a more consistent finishing at the rim once he gets stronger, as it would make him a more physically imposing player on both ends of the floor. Look for Jordan to be a solid contributor for Old Mill this year in the always competitive 4A MPSSAA.     A solid guard who's mature, composed approach to the game belies his age. At 6'0", he blends physicality with finesse, commanding the floor with a vocal presence that energizes teammates and sets the tone on both ends. He's a high-level competitor who embraces challenges and thrives under pressure. Offensively, Arrey scores with efficiency and versatility, knocking down shots from deep, pulling up in the midrange, and finishing through contact at the rim.
