Small School Standouts out of Region 12

This region includes Danville Christian, which not only captured the Class 'A' state championship but also claimed the 12th Region tournament title. The team returns plenty of talent, while programs like Danville and Somerset continue to produce strong players. Standouts from Somerset Christian, Burgin, and Trinity Christian were also considered in building this list. Ateny sets solid screens, plays with energy, and has the tools to develop into a reliable interior anchor.     Stiefel is an explosive athlete who makes an impact on both ends of the court. He helps the offense with smart passing at the top of the floor, attacks the rim with quick drives, and uses his length to clean up rebounds. Defensively, his size and leaping ability allow him to block shots inside and on the perimeter, while his quickness makes him a threat to come up with steals. With a strong motor and above-the-rim finishing ability, Stiefel stands out as a dynamic two-way player who brings energy and toughness every possession. With his speed in transition and a sharp first step, Motley puts constant pressure on defenses. While he didn't rely heavily on the three-point shot, he has the ability to step out and connect from the perimeter when needed. He thrives as a shooter, capable of hitting tough shots with a defender in his face, while also showing the ability to attack the basket. A 1,000-point career scorer and All-12th Region selection, Absher averaged 16.2 points last season and connected on 44 three-pointers. His shooting reputation consistently draws defensive attention, and he does a good job finding open teammates when defenses collapse. With an offer already on the table from Alice Lloyd, Absher has firmly established himself as one of the region's most reliable scoring threats.     Isaiah Hensley is a natural scorer who also makes his presence felt on the defensive end. He's active with his hands, creating turnovers and quickly turning them into transition opportunities where he finishes at a high rate. Offensively, he led Somerset Christian with 16 points per game last season while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. Though his perimeter consistency can improve, he's a threat from deep and cannot be left unguarded.     Jack Baker is one of the top shooters in Kentucky, ranking among the state's leaders in both threes made per game and three-point percentage. An All-District, All-A Region, and KCAC State MVP selection, he averaged 15.5 points last season while knocking down 107 threes at a 47 percent clip and shooting 83 percent from the free throw line. A 1,000-point scorer, Baker has the ability to hit tough shots without needing much space, making him one of the premier perimeter threats in the state.     Walker is an athletic guard who thrives at getting to the rim and finishing through traffic. His quick first step, tight handle, and ability to score with either hand make him a constant threat off the dribble. He elevates well when attacking the basket, allowing him to finish over defenders and through contact. He positions himself to attack before the catch, creating instant scoring chances, and can also stretch defenses with his deep three-point range. His blend of speed, skill, and awareness makes him a two-way impact player. On defense, Walker plays with discipline, staying in front of his man and making smart reads without overextending.
