New Mexico Highlands has offered a pair of standout 2026 prospects from the Land of Enchantment.

NMHU has offered Artesia shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1717327' first='Braylon' last='Vega']. With his sharp 3-point shooting and advanced all-around skills, Vegas helped Artesia capture the Class 4A state title at the Pit in March in his first year with the Bulldogs.

NMHU offered Vega's teammate, 6-foot-8 forward [player_tooltip player_id='2146038' first='Clay' last='Kincaid'], in July.

Vega's commitment came after his visit to NMHU and his participation in the Cowboys' Elite camp in late August. He also stood out at the New Mexico Junior College camp in late August. In the championship game, he hit a game-tying triple before draining the game-winning three. Previously, he helped lead Artesia to the Big School Tournament title at the Eastern New Mexico camp.

Artesia returns virtually every player from that championship team, and will likely be regarded as the favorite to win back-to-back titles next March when the 2025-26 regular season kicks off in late November.

NMHU also offered 2026 ABC Prep guard [player_tooltip player_id='2115174' first='Gabe' last='Trujillo'], who is widely regarded as the best combo guard in New Mexico for the 2026 class. He has been described as a “microwave scorer who can heat up in an instant” and ”dangerous at all three levels with an exceptional three-point shot and great touch on his floaters.”

He's also been described as a player with “good vision and a soft touch around the rim.”
