Class 1A: Stars to Watch (Part 2)

Bridgewater was the fifth option on the state champion Tigers last season, but he would've been the star player on 95% of the other 1A teams in the state. He'll star alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2439640' first='Jevyn' last='Severson'] this year. An athletic, long forward with a face-up game and the ability to take bigger defenders off the dribble, his averages of 8.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game could nearly double this winter.     James is a bit undersized as a traditional big man, but he was incredibly productive as a junior for the Hawks, averaging 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 54% shooting. He's tough, physical, and plays with a non-stop motor, routinely outworking his opposition.     Stacy transferred from Mount Pleasant before his junior year and was a big-time scorer for the Warriors, averaging 19.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He's a talented three-level scorer who can create plays off the dribble.     Ramsey stuffed the stat sheet for the Wolves as a junior, putting up 22.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game on 42-36-80 shooting splits. A talented guard who can create plays for his teammates or knock down shots off the catch when operating off the ball, he'll once again be among the top scorers in 1A this season.     Wall was far-and-away the leading scorer for the Wildcats last season, averaging nearly three times as many points (21.5) as the next leading scorer. He's a quick, downhill attacking guard who loves to get to the bucket and the free-throw line.     Sholes is a bouncy, athletic big man who was absolutely dominant inside the painted area for the Trojans last season, averaging 20.2 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 5.2 blocks per game. An explosive athlete with a great second jump, he has impeccable timing as a shot blocker.     A gifted playmaker with great vision, Casel is a high IQ guard who does a great job playing with pace, changing directions, and moving his feet on the defensive end. The Comets could be among the best teams in 1A this season, bringing back their top nine scorers, and if they're going to make some serious noise, it'll be largely because of Casel and another player who will be revealed in Part 3 of this article series.     Kleinwolterink led the Comets to the state tournament last season, averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He's a smart lead guard who likes to use his athleticism to get downhill or to the free-throw line.     Ruggles stuffed the stat sheet as a junior for the Raiders, averaging 19.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game on 50-44-80 shooting splits. He's a talented three-level scorer who can really shoot it off both the dribble and the catch.     Boehme pairs with big man [player_tooltip player_id='1884756' first='Tanner' last='Bergmann'] to give the Warriors one of the best one-two punches in the class. He's a physical, quick guard who likes to play downhill and attack the rim, where he's an adept finisher and high-level shooter at the free-throw line. Defensively he's a strong on-ball defender who moves his feet well. He averaged 19.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game last season.
