The CBG Fall Team Camp took place at the Henrico Sports and Event Center this past weekend, with two days of action featuring some top tier teams from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. With four courts of action and over 30 teams in attendance, there was plenty of new prospects that made a name for themselves. Here's a look at 10 senior and juniors who jumped on the radar for the next rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley'] | 6'0” PG | Bethel Academy 2026

Toatley transferred to the new look Bethel from St. John's in DC, and he showed he's going to be the straw that stirs the drink for a very talented team this year. He showed the ability to push in transition with his speed to get to the rim, and also find his athletic wings running the floor for easy buckets. He was excellent in the pick-and-roll and put pressure on the defense, he made shots off the bounce from different levels, and he sets the tone defensively with his on ball pressure.

Becks Hetzel | 6'5” PF | Heritage 2026

Hetzel was great for a Heritage team that will be tough to beat in NOVA this season, and his inside presence is going to be a big reason for that. While he's not the biggest or most athletic, he is super fundamentally sound with great footwork and touch around the rim and he scored the ball very efficiently in the paint. He has a knack for being around the ball as a rebounder, he can step out to the elbows and makes his free throws at a high clip, and he can be effective without really needing plays run for him.

Tristan Smith | 6'3” WF | CBG Elite (Albemarle) 2026

Smith opened the eyes of a number of coaches in attendance, as the Albemarle wing came down to play for CBG Elite and was very impressive on both ends of the floor. A late bloomer who has grown into his body and become very explosive, he attacked the rim hard in transition and when he got downhill to attack the rim. He guarded great both on the ball and coming help side showing good hands and shot blocking ability, he rebounded well on both ends, he showed the ability to create for himself and others, and he still has a lot of room to get better.

[player_tooltip player_id='2546241' first='Micah' last='Young'] | 6'3” WG | Gainesville 2027

Young is a player I expect to have a breakout junior season for a good Gainesville team, and the former PVI guard is starting to come into his own with his physical and athletic traits. He's a strong built wing who is explosive in transition and when he gets downhill, and he's able to use his size to draw contact and finish through it as well. He's shifty off the bounce with the ability to create space, he can knock it down from deep with good range, and he has the tools to be a very good perimeter defender too.

Jaeden Palmer | 6'2” CG | Highland 2027

Palmer is part of a talented but completely new look Highland team who only return two rotation players from their state championship team last year, but he's part of a dynamic new backcourt who can come in waves for them. The 6'2” combo has good shift with change of pace off the bounce to keep defenders off balance and get in the paint to make plays for himself and others. He showed the ability to move off the ball and make shots off the catch, he defended the ball with energy and was good in help, and he made the right play consistently on both ends.

Kyrei Haywood | 6'8” PF | Peninsula Catholic 2027

Haywood transferred to PC this summer, and he gives the VISAA D-II runner up squad a big addition with his blend of size and athleticism in the front court. He showed great mobility getting up and down the floor and even laterally on switches, and he showed big time athleticism with multiple put back dunks and big throw downs in transition. He showed the ability to step out and make shots or put it on the deck, his versatility on the defensive end will be big for them, and he showed flashes of brilliance that makes him a prospect to keep an eye on for sure.

[player_tooltip player_id='2640022' first='Colby' last='Murphy'] | 6'4” WF | Bethel Academy 2027

Murphy is another of the many newcomers on this Bethel Academy squad, and boy did he make his presence known early and often with his blend of size, strength and athleticism on both ends of the floor. He was able to bully smaller defenders in the post and off the bounce, with one play where he initiated contact and the defender literally fell away, giving him a chance to take one dribble and throw it down with authority. He was excellent in transition getting out and using his explosion to play above the rim, he showed the ability to make shots off the catch from deep, and he played and guarded multiple positions as well.

Jordan Garland | 6'4” WF | Heritage 2027

Garland is another intriguing prospect that emerged at the CBG Team Camp, as he impressed quite a bit with his physical and athletic tools, with a base skillset that should get better as he continues to improve. At 6'4” with a strong upper body, he showed no fear whatsoever getting downhill and not just drawing contact, but seeking it and finishing through it as well. He filled lanes in transition and used his athleticism to finish, he made open shots from multiple levels, and he showed good instincts jumping passing lanes as well.

Shameer Williams | 6'0” WG | LC Bird 2027

The Skyhawks have a completely new look from the past two seasons where they made runs to the state tournament, and while they aren't the biggest team they went 3-1 on the weekend by spreading the ball and suffocating defense, with one of the players that impressed the most being Williams. The 6'0” guard shot the ball very well from deep, understanding spacing and movement and knocking it down at a high clip from deep. He played extremely hard in their press, didn't force things and made the right play consistently, and he could emerge as one of their go-to guys this season.

Kionte Barbour | 5'10” PG | Rise Academy 2027

Rise Academy is coming off of an appearance in the VISAA D-IV state semifinals last year, and they have another group that will be a nightmare to matchup with as they have tons of playmakers in the backcourt, with Barbour emerging as one of them. While he isn't the biggest player, he is a tough as nails small guard who plays with great energy and aggression on both ends of the floor. He set the tone with his suffocating on ball defense, he was in constant attack mode getting in the paint and pushing the ball in transition, and he scored it from multiple levels with solid efficiency too.
