As the Summer nears an end and the basketball winds down, we will recap some of the notable player offers, movements, and performances from across South Carolina over the past two months. Next up in the series is "New Names we Learned", highlighting new prospects to the database and my radar from the Summer. Check it out:

[player_tooltip player_id='1242286' first='AJ' last='Samuel'] (Crestwood) - First up on the list is Crestwood's [player_tooltip player_id='1242286' first='AJ' last='Samuel'], an intriguing big man who will see an increase in minutes this season for the Knights. Listed at 6'7" with a sturdy frame, AJ has great physicals and can dominate smaller matchups, particularly close to the rim and on the glass. Samuel is still quite raw, though, and he could use some development with his footwork and hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2883989' first='Landen' last='Sullivan'] (Powdersville) - Landen is another guy who stepped up in June and will be asked to produce for his team this Winter. Sullivan caught my eye at the Gregg Nibert Camp of Champs. Although he would likely be a 2 Guard at the next level, Landen needs to have the ball in his hands often for this Patriots squad because of his consistent decision-making and ball-handling ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896381' first='Reggie' last='Dozier'] (Goose Creek) - Reggie posted a few nice performances for [program_tooltip program_id='2246675' first='Charleston' last='Raptors'] in the month of July. He has impressed as a scorer, doing so across multiple levels and in multiple ways. Dozier can get hot in a hurry, particularly when getting downhill to the rim or to his spots in the mid-range. He is also both efficient and creative with ball off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2920277' first='Idreyiss' last='Hoist'] (Goose Creek) - Hoist has really raised his game since returning to AAU ball this Summer. Playing with Team Ford on the Big Shots Cicuit, Idreyiss has put several strong tournaments together and turned some heads across the state. He has good positional size, defends at a high level, and can create shots within the offense or after it breaks down.

[player_tooltip player_id='2895541' first='Jahmari' last='Malone'] (Wando) - Jahmari impressed with Wando at the SCBCA Live Event this Summer. In a matchup with Lexington, he scored a game-high 25 points. Malone is a very good outside shooter, but he is also a scrappy and determined driver who can finish through contact at the rim around bigger defenders. Keep an eye on Jahmari as part of the Warriors' exciting young core.

[player_tooltip player_id='2816326' first='Preston' last='Heffner'] (Catawba Ridge) - Heffner had two big games in front of me this Summer, going for 16 points in June with Catawba Ridge and again in July with [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure']. Preston will be a nice piece for those two teams along the line, especially as he adds more to his game to go with the length and interior scoring ability that he already possesses.

[player_tooltip player_id='2818240' first='Dezmon' last='Martino'] (Bamberg-Erhardt) - Martino is one to watch in South Carolina's 2029 Class. He has terrific size for his age, being listed at 6'5" with good mobility and athleticism to go with it. Dezmon looks to affect the game with his length, using it to block shots and clean the glass. However, he has shown glimpses of his handle as well, both in transition and the half-court.
