The annual RCS Sports Rucker on Wood showcase took place last Sunday and it was a great event for fans, scouts, and players alike. The University of St. Thomas played host to the event and hosted the 2028-2029 classes for what is known as the "best organized open gym" in Texas. The 2028 class was absolutely impressive in their runs during the event, and these are some names who really stood out to me, due to their impressive talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='2636008' first='Jordan' last='Goffney'] was perhaps one of the quickest and most explosive guards in attendance. Before this, I had never watched Jordan but now he will definitely be on my radar all of this school year. He can get to the rim using quickness and he also has good vision with the ball in his hands. His jumpshot is very reliable and he ran the offense well from the point guard slot. Goffney will be a great player for Episcopal if he keeps up this momentum.

Caleb was a big-time presence in the paint during Sunday's games. No one had the height to compete with Huff on the glass, and he was a great two-way force, crashing the boards on both sides of the ball and being effective scoring on fastbreaks and taking advantage of mismatches. He uses his height well when in the paint and can use a variety of post moves to score the rock. Look for Caleb to raise his stock this year at Katy Jordan High School!

[player_tooltip player_id='2908800' first='Devin' last='King'] was one of the most athletic and bouncy players I watched that was in attendance. He skied over defenders and teammates alike to grab second chance rebounds and scored from all levels of the court. King had good off ball hustle and was always moving on both ends of the floor, vocal on defense and never slowing down on offense. He takes advantage well of fastbreaks and just has a good motor overall. Don't look for Devin to slow down the momentum anytime soon!

Sergio had the best vision I watched on the court during ROW Session 1. He always has eyes open when handling the rock and making sure teammates stay involved and get their touches in on offense. He has a deceptively quick first step and can shoot well off the dribble as well as being slippery when driving to the paint past his matchup. You can tell that Cabrera puts the work in during off hours because of the IQ he possessed during the event among all the players. Sergio should continue to turn heads if he keeps up the impressive tear he has been on!

[player_tooltip player_id='2951122' first='Jeremiah' last='Holly'] was one of the more aggressive guards I watched on the court, and his physicality was a big reason he stood out to me. He hustles for loose balls, draws contact to get to the foul line, and he can step up in any way his team needs. He scored from all levels, was a good motivational leader, and showed great prowess as the "glue guy" for his team to take home some key wins during Rucker on Wood. I will definitely be tuned in to Holly's school season moving forward!
