With the updated 2027 class rankings in Virginia, it's time we take a deeper look at some of the players we have in it. Here's a look at part three of some of the new players who have joined the rankings.

#68 [player_tooltip player_id='2898054' first='Jayden' last='Detrick'] | 6'2” SG | Woodside

Detrick played a solid role for Woodside in another deep playoff run last season, and he's had a great summer to elevate him into the category of top rising juniors on the Peninsula with a talented 2027 class for the Wolverines. The 6'2” off guard is able to score the ball without needing it much in his hands with his ability to cut and work off the ball for easy buckets, he can knock down open shots from deep off the catch, and he can rip and attack to the basket in straight lines too.

#72 [player_tooltip player_id='2898014' first='Dylan' last='Williams'] | 5'10” PG | Heritage (Leesburg)

Williams was an All Conference and All Region selection for Heritage last year, as he emerged as one of the top scoring and distributing guards in the Loudoun area in NOVA public schools. The 5'10” guard has in the gym range and can get hot quickly to hit tough shots from deep, he changes speeds well and gets to spots off the bounce, and he has excellent feel and instincts on both ends of the floor.

#73 [player_tooltip player_id='2898019' first='Chase' last='Johnson'] | 6'0” PG | Landstown

Johnson is part of a deep Landstown backcourt that will return next year with more experience under their belt, and they're going to be an absolute handful to deal with moving forward. At 6'0” he's strong and quick which allows him to get downhill and play through contact, he's great in ball screens and makes good reads, and he really excels with his on ball defense as well.

#74 [player_tooltip player_id='2377992' first='Micaiah' last='Mitchell'] | 6'7” PF | Princess Anne

Mitchell is part of a young PA group that will be a tough out in the 757 this up coming season, and he's full of upside as he continues to improve his game and his body moving forward. At 6'7” he's a load in the paint who can bully smaller defenders and attacks the glass hard, he's quicker than he looks and is able to run the floor, and he finishes well through contact with both hands.

#76 [player_tooltip player_id='2898023' first='Christian' last='Tabb'] | 6'1” PG | Manchester

Tabb emerged this summer as a name to watch in the Richmond area, and coming off a very good sophomore season he should be one of the top guards in the Chesterfield area as a junior. He's a relentless guard who sets the tone defensively with his ability to pick up and guard ball handlers 94 feet, he's a good help side defender who can jump passing lanes, he can create for himself and others off the bounce, and he can work off the ball to get open as well.

#78 [player_tooltip player_id='2898058' first='Nigel' last='Arthur'] | 6'6” PF | St. Stephen's St. Agnes

Arthur is the type of player that every coach loves to have on their team and continue to develop, because whether or not he gets a lot of scoring chances he's still going to play with the best motor and do all of the dirty work. He runs the floor hard both on offense and getting back defensively, he crashes the boards relentlessly and gets points on the offensive glass, he will do all the dirty work defensively, and he has gotten a lot better over the past few seasons.

#81 [player_tooltip player_id='2898028' first='Joel' last='Nicholson'] | 6'2” PG | Hanover

Nicholson had a breakout season at Hanover last year, and is one of the more intriguing guards int he Richmond area with blend of size, length and athleticism at the point guard position. He's a fluid athlete with a quick first step and good speed in transition, he uses his length to get deflections and steals defensively, he can create for himself and others off the bounce, and he can score the ball in a number of ways efficiently.

#85 [player_tooltip player_id='2898068' first='Xavier' last='Park'] | 6'3” SG | VA Academy

Park is coming off a good summer with VA Academy where he showed he can be on elf the top shooters in the DMV, and one thing about him is that he plays with a lot of confidence within his role. He moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly to be able to get good looks on the move, he has excellent range and a quick release, he's very consistent from deep, and he plays with good energy on both end of the floor.

#89 [player_tooltip player_id='2898030' first='Abram' last='Schrinel'] | 6'5” PF | Douglas Freeman

Schrinel is another guy that every coach would love to have on their team, as he may be a little undersized as a four man but he is highly productive and consistent on both ends of the floor. While he's only 6'5” he has very long arms and a great motor to challenge shots and rebound the ball on both ends, he can step out and knock down open shots to stretch the defense, and he is a mismatch with his ability to put it on the deck against slower players too.

#90 [player_tooltip player_id='2898034' first='Langston' last='Cook'] | 5'10” PG | Parry McCleur

Cook was a Class 1 All State selection as a sophomore out of McCleur, and while he's in a small market and not the biggest guy he has a ton of game that will allow him to play with pretty much anyone. The 5'10” guard is quick and shifty off the bounce with blow by ability and great balance to create space to get his shot off, he scores it in bunches from all over the floor, he's unselfish and has great feel as a playmaker, and he has great instincts on the defensive end too.
