Freshman ID Camp: Second Team Players Shine

With the first team players now released, we will now focus on the Second Team Players and their standout characteristics. Each of these athletes has demonstrated a unique skill set, but the common factor is their stellar performances at the Freshman ID Camp. These players have made significant impressions with their talent, work ethic, and potential, and they are poised to make a big impact as they continue to develop.    Kinchen established himself as one of the standout players in the gym with his size, strength, and versatile skill set. He thrived in physical matchups, overpowering defenders on the block, while also showcasing finesse with his jumper and footwork. Defensively, he was a force using his body to wall up and using his quickness to guard multiple positions. Kinchen's ability to blend power and skill makes him one of the most intriguing prospects in his class. His ceiling is high, and his current production already speaks volumes about his potential.     McGee was one of the most energetic players in the gym. With great size and athleticism, he works tirelessly around the rim, making it difficult for opponents to score easily. His soft touch around the basket, combined with his relentless effort, sets him apart—he's always a tough matchup for guards hoping for quick, easy buckets. Players matching his size will struggle to outwork him, and McGee's relentless motor made him one of the most noticeable talents throughout the camp.     Westley was one of the most talked-about players at the camp, and for good reason. His skill was on full display as he kept knocking down shots that most players wouldn't even consider taking. Shots that require immense confidence and touch, and Westley made them look easy. His performance was one of the best of the day, and reports indicate that he's continued this level of play at elite camps afterward. When Westley crosses half court, pick him up. The kid is a shooter.     Glapion was one of the best athletes in the gym, already demonstrating many of the skills that recruiters covet at the next level. At 6'4” as a freshman, he's going to be handful for older players, thanks to his physical tools. He combines elite size and speed, using his explosiveness both vertically and laterally to impact both ends of the floor. He's a reliable rim protector and rebounder, showcasing the ability to alter shots and secure possessions. His athleticism and skill set make him a player to watch closely as he continues to develop.     Barber was one of the most aggressive guards in the showcase, attacking from the jump in both 3v3 and 5v5 action. He demonstrated a full offensive bag scoring from deep, pulling up in the mid-range, and getting to the rim with confidence. His handle is advanced for his age, and he isn't afraid of any matchup. Beyond scoring, Barber set up teammates and just played with great energy. To say he had it on his mind is an understatement. He showed up and put in work. His upside is tremendous, and with continued development, he could surely become a major backcourt threat in his class.
