He has a good motor and utilizes it to make plays on both ends of the court. On offense, his strengths are creating off the dribble, shooting, and he can make slick passes. On defense, Hawkins Jr. can frustrate opponents with his active hands. When he comes up with a steal, he also has the ability to push transition. He uses his IQ to get to his spots and from there he let's it go with confidence. Carroll is also a hound on defense and can gather steals. The incoming freshman is a tough bucket getter and utilizes his consistent shooting stroke to fill it up from the perimeter. He also hits mid-range shots and makes smart passes. He also uses patience when looking to get to his shot up and can finish through contact. In addition to his interior scoring, Oruh connects on jumpers and gets to the line.
