As I recap the Prep Hoops July's circuit games I wanted to highlight the players who have potential breakout talent and could be the next household names in the state of Illinois.

Landon Ray 6'5 Midwest Bobcats 2028

Landon is a 6'5” versatile forward who proved to be highly effective as a face-up big and a back-to-the-basket post. He scored the ball effortlessly as he can drive to the basket with either hand and finish around guys. In the post he has nimble footwork and shot fakes to keep defenders guessing. Ray also gets after things on defense and does a good job at rebounding outside of his area. Going into his sophomore season on varsity he should become a reliable option for St. Viator.

Keyhon Minor 6'4 Junior Raptors 2028

Minor is a physically imposing prospect who controlled the game by owning the glass and scoring well off putbacks. He out-jumps guys on the boards chasing anything down that is in or outside his space. When scoring he kept things simple with right and left-handed touches off the glass. Keyhon is a player who will benefit more from playing in the short corner right now because it helps him stick around the basket. As he improves his ball skills he can dominate in the lane. Minor has the look and attributes to be the next in line at Rich Township.

[player_tooltip player_id='2836248' first='Joshua' last='Anderson'] 6'5 1 Dream 2028

Anderson has the long-term potential based on his game and where he is currently playing in high school. He has legit and projectable size at 6'5. It was his motor and ability to rebound and push the break that caught my attention. Joshua moved well in the lane and scored often out of the dunkers spot showing an already established skillset. As a sophomore he will learn a lot playing with Hazelett and [player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'] at Kankakee.

Jalonny Billingsley 6'5 Drako Elite 2029

Coming into this summer Billingsley was labeled one of the top incoming 8th graders in the state. We thought we would get a glimpse of him in June with his high school Simeon, but having him play on the Circuit was even better. Jalonny is an athletic wing who grabs your attention with exciting dunks. He showed promise as a ball handler and playmaker. Billingsley showed good timing catching a crazy tip dunk and blocking a shot clear out of bounds. For his size and aggressive nature on the court expect Jalonny to be a name for the next 4 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2389292' first='Troy' last='Ford'] 6'4 [program_tooltip program_id='2785912' first='Team' last='FVV'] 2028

Troy has the size and skill to be a name in the state. At 6'4 he is an athletic wing player who runs the lanes well and finishes plays at the basket. Ford defends multiple positions and is tough to keep off the glass. With his length he handled the ball well and wasn't shy about shooting the rock. Troy has some star quality to his game and has a chance to be a factor in the state.
