Expert Analysis
Matthew Clendenin | Prep Hoops Scout
Troy Ford has decent size for his position and showed flashes of offensive upside with a baseline drive and a bank off the glass. Ford also impressed with spin-move fadeaway jumpers near the low post, adding to the team’s low-post offense. Ford also added to the team’s rebounding stats and looked good in the backcourt when playing down low.

Expect Ford to be an impactful sophomore for Auburn this season. The 6’4” wiry and lanky power forward has long strides running the floor. Handles it better than I previously thought along with finishing around the hoop with bounce.

Brought energy every time he stepped on the floor, making hustle plays that sparked his team. Used his handle, particularly a sharp crossover, to create driving lanes and get to the rim. His length was an asset defensively, allowing him to jump passing lanes and generate steals. An energetic presence with tools to impact both ends of the floor.

Caught team’s third game of the day on Saturday. Has good length at the 4 or 5 man spot and finishes well around the basket. With his agility he can create some mis match opportunities offensively because of size. Moves his feet well at the wing spot and can guard in different areas of the floor. Runs the floor at a solid pace keeping up with the primary phases. Will be a contributing value at both ends of the court over the next three years.
