On July 9th I watched some of the circuits online with 3SSB and EYCL.

There were some good showings from rising seniors, juniors and sophomores.

Here were some of the Opening Night Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] Highland (UH Elite 16) (Pictured)

A strong framed guard will drive and kick it to a shooter for some assists and can score with getting to the basket and hitting the three off the catch. His range has extended out more this year, making him a tougher cover. He will score off of the glass with put backs. He can play some on the ball and uses the pick and roll game to his advantage. He scored 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2133646' first='Myles' last='Godfrey'] Cactus Shadows (Hoop Code 16)

The maestro of the 16U club is definitely Myles. He makes every read in the book with up the court ropes, drive and kicks and will spray it around to open shooters with either hand. He will score with threes off the catch, bursts to the basket keeping his dribble alive in traffic plus pull-up from mid. He had 21 points with five threes and made a huge three with 40 seconds left.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482217' first='Khalil' last='Lias'] Eduprize (Pluto Prospects)

An athletic combo guard plays on or off the ball for them. He can work smartly off of the pick and roll game and find a teammate plus score. He will hit the three off the catch, step back on his defender or drive it quickly to the basket with his longer strides and bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986796' first='Peyton' last='Lubash'] San Tan Charter (UH Elite 16)

A quick scoring point guard has a super quick three point trigger. He is one of the rare players to have legit volleyball line range in the rising junior class. He finds teammates thru the defense and will drive and kick it to a shooter. He will also thread it into a tight space off of the pick and roll game. He scored 13 points with five assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386977' first='Kyle' last='Speed Jr'] Gilbert (Hoop Code 16)

A high motored wing forward is one of the top rebounders in the class. He will score with quick rip thrus to the basket or stop and play off of two-feet for a hook shot. He grabbed 10 rebounds on the opening night with six on the offensive end impressively. He simply outworks his opponents and wants it more.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482211' first='Noah' last='Gloor'] Higley (AZ Gremlins)

A scoring point guard has a good showing. He scored with off the dribble shots from mid-range and deep triples with a quick release. He gets high elevation off the dribble from mid-range with players draped all over him and has elite confidence. He can find a teammate but is looking to score. He had close to 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1445948' first='Brandon' last='Stapleton'] Chandler (AZ Gremlins)

A bigger guard/point forward was playing a lot of lead guard for them. They are undersized so he was defending nearly every position on the court. He can get to the basket and rebounds well in his area and will find a teammate for the assist. He does not have to score a lot to affect a game.
