July is coming to a close meaning that the new academic school year is about to start soon. The 2028 class might have only played one season of varsity basketball, but that won't stop them from making an impact on the hardwood this season. Here are the 2028 under the radar combo guards to track.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194748' first='Bryce' last='Scott'], 5'9 Roselle Catholic

Scott has the potential to have a breakout sophomore campaign as he should get more touches on the offensive end. The 5'9 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor. Scott can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shots. He works hard on the defensive end and can find his open teammates in the half court. Scott is a gritty guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2786649' first='Avery' last='Cano'], 5'10 Lyndhurst

Cano is one of the top shooters in the 2028 class and should put it on display this season. The 5'10 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Cano is more than just a shooter as he uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and threads passes to his open teammates. He is a solid rebounder and uses his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end. Cano is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should continue to torch the nets during his sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2821721' first='Nameer' last='Burch'], 6'3 JP Stevens

Burch has the ability to play either guard spot, which he should put on display this season. The 6'3 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor. Burch uses his size to see over his defender and can also score in the mid-range. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and rarely forces the issue in the half court. Burch is a hard-working guard prospect whose game should continue to grow during the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759010' first='Connor' last='Marcoullier'], 5'10 CBA

Marcoullier has the ability to play both on and off the ball, which will help his development in a big way. The 5'10 guard has a good shooting stroke and can knock down triples in bunches. Marcoullier moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He finds his open teammates in the half court and is an underrated defender. Marcoullier's ability to stretch the ball and defend the ball is something that will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2788641' first='Gavin' last='Roach'], 6'3 West Side

Roach had a solid debut varsity campaign and should have an even bigger 2025-26 season. The 6'3 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and knows how to finish around the rim. Roach can also score in the mid-range and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He has the length to get deflections on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Roach had a pair of 20-point games last season and should have more games like that during his 2025-26 season.
