2027: Eye Catchers At Rock Hill

PH NorCal was in Rock Hill South Carolina July 10-13 for the 3SSB Championships. There were not a lot of NorCal Prospects, but we did see California prospects from the class of 2027 who caught our eye with their play on the court against quality competition    The 6'1 guard spent time up top as a facilitator. He looked more like a combo guard in Rock Hill. Handling ball pressure, settling things up top, looking to get others involved with good ball movement around the perimeter, finding cutters, and feeding the post. He had good drives, weaving his way in for assists, and buckets. He hits the mid-range, and knocks down open 3's off the dribble.     Welch has a good set of tools to work with. He was able to score in and around the paint with foot work, and touch around the rim. His jump hook was working. He used one or two dribbles to get to his paint, and mid-range jumper. He'll move the ball. Standing 6'9 he can change some shots, and get his fair share of rebounds.     He's strong with plenty of activity around the rim. He rebounds with effort on both ends. He had multiple follow ups on the offensive side, while snatching defensive rebounds, making good outlets, then hustling up court, looking for put backs, and tap ins. He's got work to do polishing up his offensive skill set, but he'll finish around the rim.     The crafty guard from West Linn in Oregon. He has quality handles, vision, and footwork. He makes good use of his body shielding the ball when he goes on the attack. He hit floaters, and paint jumpers. He's an excellent passer/ball mover. He has a good understanding of the game, makes good decisions. He'll pull-up on the dime for the mid-range jumpers.     A fast guard with handles, and change of direction. He used a couple of moves to free himself up for paint jumpers, and contact drives to the basket. He dropped a couple of 3-pointers along the perimeter. He has quick hands to get steals, and foot speed on the defensive side of the ball.     Standing 6'7 and growing. Hahn has a good all around skill set that allows him to be effective inside and out. He has the size, and strength to defend in the paint, battle for rebounds, and score points through contact. We saw him hit corner 3's, and free throw jumpers. He used his dribble along the baseline, and high post to get to the rim. He's a competitor.     He's a speedy point guard, with slick handles, and moves. He shows no fear attacking the basket, challenging bigs to block his shots. He regularly gets into the paint for high off the glass layups, floaters, and paint jumpers. He can settle the offense in half-court, move the ball around the perimeter. He's fast pushing and passing pass in transition.     A guard that understand how to run the point position. An excellent ball handler, passer with court vision to deliver quality passes into the post, around the perimeter, and up, he made several long passes up court. He's a solid body point guard that uses his body to protect the ball when driving to the basket for layups, assists, and paint jumpers. He can generate buckets for himself. He stripped a few ball handlers, helped rebound.
