The GMC was rocked over the weekend as reigning conference player of the year Aiden Derkack transferred to Spire Academy. The conference still has talent that can make a big impact on the hardwood, especially in the 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1859565' first='Sam' last='Jones'], PG Sayreville

Jones has been one of the most productive players in the GMC over the last couple of years and should continue to do so in his senior season. He has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and can finish through contact around the rim. Jones can also score in the mid-range and moves well without the ball in his hands. He is a tough on-ball defender and is an underrated passer. Jones is a gritty guard prospect who should put his game on display throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948970' first='Donald' last='Nwaigwe'], 6'4 SF Piscataway

Nwaigwe has had a strong summer, which he should carry over into the winter. The 6'4 wing uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Nwaigwe is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is a solid rebounder. Nwaigwe is a versatile forward prospect who should put his game on full display this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948973' first='Ryan' last='Hilongos'], 6'7 PF St. Joe's Metuchen

Hilongos put his game on display throughout the course of the summer and will look to carry it over into the winter. The 6'7 forward has a good face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and his range extends out to the three-point line. Hilongos can also get position in the paint and has a nice touch around the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his size to swat shots around the rim. Hilongos is a hard-working forward prospect whose stock should rise this winter with his ability to impact the game at both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2870003' first='RJ' last='Wortman'], 6'5 SF/PF Colonia

Wortman has the ability to play either forward spot and should put it on display this winter. The 6'5 forward knows how to get to his spot on the floor and finishes strong around the rim. Wortman rarely forces shots in the half court and can also pass out of the post. He is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and slides his feet on the defensive end. Wortman is a tough forward prospect who has the potential to fill up the stat sheet this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953390' first='Matt' last='Mikulka'], 5'9 PG East Brunswick

Mikulka is one of the top shooters in the conference and should put it on display this season. The 5'9 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Mikulka moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and can get deflections on the defensive end. Mikulka is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets throughout the course of his senior season.
