The Wilsonville Summer Tourney took place the second weekend in June and the field may have been the strongest it's ever been as many of the top 5A and 6A teams in the state battled it out. In the end, it was Jesuit that took the title with a win over Mountainside. Here's a look at the players that were brand or fairly new to us that made an impression on us over the two days of competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2887447' first='Andrew' last='Marcoe'] (2026 Clackamas) - Well-built forward who has consistently scored both inside and out for Clackamas this summer. In Wilsonville, took the ball strong to the hole for finishes but also faced up to step out and hit jumpers. Hard-nosed competitor that battled on the boards and defensively, not backing down from anyone. His absence was felt as Clackamas dropped one of the games he missed.

[player_tooltip player_id='2205005' first='Riley' last='Deborde'] (2026 Sherwood) - Pure pass-first point guard. Consistently looked to create for others and only took shots when left wide open. Good ball-handler and passer, really pushed the ball up the floor to locate open teammates. Finished well at the hoop when given opportunities in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2857885' first='Nick' last='Zervis'] (2026 Jesuit) - Ultimate glue guy helped Jesuit capture the tournament title. Played hard on both ends, keeping the ball moving with the extra pass on offense and was a pest as a stick-em defender. Nice looking shot when left open and didn't hesitate to attack and draw the defense in the lane.

AJ Brown (2026 Milwaukee) - Outside shooter with a lean build at 6-foot-3. Effectively shot the ball from distance on the catch and shoot but also used the dribble drive to free himself up for shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2891734' first='Jack' last='Wilson'] (2027 Jesuit) - Checked into the first game we watched of Jesuit and immediately sank a catch-and-shoot three from the corner. Ended up with four more such threes during the game as a result of moving well without the ball and understanding how to use screens to get open. More than just a three-point bomber, he showed he was capable of putting the ball on the floor a little and played great team ball on both ends of the floor.

Caleb Dressler (2027 Sherwood) - Long and lanky lefty scorer. Great touch on his shot out past three-point range and was capable of putting the ball on the floor and create going to the basket. Led Sherwood's JV in scoring last season and is a projected starter according to Sherwood head coach Rahim Tufts.

Brycen Higgins (2028 Cascade) - Aggressive offensive player for a team that will be looking for him to score. Looked to attack the basket and draw contact, and was able to finish some plays around the hoop. Solid looking face-up jumper. Did a nice job competing on the boards at 6-foot-2, especially on the offensive end.

Sammy Martinov (2029 Clackamas) - Incoming freshman didn't score a lot of points in the game we watched, but looked the part. Long and lanky, fairly physically mature with an athletic build, moves well without the ball. Has some ball skills, a pretty nice looking jumper, and plays with a good motor.
