DeKalb Live: 2026 Prime Combo Guards

Prep Hoops Illinois was at Dekalb High School checking out NCAA's certified live event over the weekend. The event consisted of 6 courts with over 100+ teams competing and getting better. From small schools to big schools, I saw a diverse range of skill sets from smalls to bigs and everything in between. In this analysis, let's go ahead and breakdown this years' up and coming seniors who played even keeled at the 1 or 2 spots and filled both rolls nicely.    Defensively made his mark. Will put full court pressure on the ball. Came away with 4 steals in the first half converting into baskets. Shows good tenacity and reaction timing. Had a cool mid-range game as well. Sank a pull up from 10 feet stepping back and another spin move off the dribble from same distance. Heart and hustle are both there to make a positive impact.     <a>Can play multiple positions in the back court. Handling services are available. Hit multiple 3's in the middle afternoon game Saturday off the catch to keep team's run going. Shot looked pure. Cuts hard without the ball and possesses smooth finishing touch in traffic. Will affect the game in a positive manner.</a>     Poised lengthier point guard. Started to get in rhythm in the 2nd half of early morning game on Sunday. Has handling abilities to read the zone and split the gaps. Got to a couple openings driving it. Was able to find opportunities on the base a couple times for takes and hit a smooth elbow jumper. Comfortable pushing it ahead in transition. Helped team to a 4-0 weekend. Will continue to turn heads this year in the East Suburban Conference and will be slated for a big senior season.     A tough back court presence as the Spartan's main ball handler. Made aggressive takes to the cup multiple times and possesses an intentional competitive edge. Hard nosed on the ball defender. Made quick reads off the ball with smart reaction. Disciplined with high IQ. Fills his role efficiently and can impact the game in a hurry.     Plays the other guard spot on team's tough backcourt duo. Watched last game of weekend on Sunday and tied game high with 20. A high scoring threat that can get into the paint in a hurry. Likes to go to work in transition and can create opportunities. Hit a floater from 7 feet, an and 1 finish on the break with soft touch, and a spot up 3 from the other guard. Will be a fun player to watch for Titans this season.
