2028 Rankings Update: Newcomers

PH NorCal has updated the class of 2028 Rankings. It's always tricky when evaluating and ranking the young and upcoming prospects. Some make big splashes, then level off, while others gradually improve. In this article we'll take a look at the new additions to the Prep Hoops Rankings. Here at PH NorCal we're always looking for new prospects to shine the light on.    He has a calm approach to the game, with good individual guard skills, a reliable mid-range jump shot, sometimes with the fade to finish over long arm defenders in the paint. His ball handling is good, with excellent vision looking to involve others.     A long wiry prospect standing 6'3 probably still growing. He aggressively looks to put points on the board. He averaged 13.2 ppg his Freshman season at Rancho Cotate on the varsity, while using his length to get 6.3 rebs per game. He gets to the basket, avoids hard hits, can hit the 3ptr. He's good in transition.     A slender combo guard with point guard instincts. He did well as a facilitator, he has good handles, vision and makes the effort to involve mates. He has a good first step getting into the paint for assists, and points. He can get his own buckets driving into the paint for jumpers, and attacking the basket.     He's a solid body with good strength, and activity around the basket at the 15u level. He has good lift to finish around the rim, and go after rebounds. He'll use one hard to gather and power up. He's bit raw but gives good effort against quality competition. JGE 15 3SSB.     He has good activity inside on both ends. Thin, stronger than he looks. He comes across the paint, wants the ball, handles contact. He saves ball from going out of bound, gets on the floor for loose balls, he's a scrapper. He'll battle for rebounds, talks on defense. He hit corner 3's, short jumpers, he hustle up court.     He's a growing body, putting up good numbers at Sonora Academy. He did well boxing out before going for rebounds. He did some handling in transition passing it up early. There's some alertness on defense using length to play the gaps, and help weak side. He hit the 3point shot in the corners.     He has a growing skill set. He squares up with good lift on the mid-range, and paint jumpers, after using one or more dribbles. He's a solid body, plays well off two feet planting, using balance, and going up strong inside to finish through contact. He's a solid ball handler.     He's a fast point guard with good handles racing up the court. He has the vision to deliver quality passes on the move. He'll use a burst with his first step to get by defenders for pull-up paint jumpers. He helps rebound from the guard position. Has quick hands and feet on the defensive side of the ball.     A balanced guard with a good upside. He's a solid body with good handles, uses the shoulder bump for drives to finish through contact, or float it over long arm defenders. He handles ball pressure, made long strong passes up court in transition.     A fast point guard, always keeping pressure on the defense, pushing and looking in transition, he might go all the way if there's a clear pass. He has good vision, made bounce passes, dished it on drives, found cutters, and made the entry pass into the post. He can drive it for points.
