Shane's Under-the-Radar Players - Run-n-Slam

This past weekend I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana for one of the top AAU events in the Midwest - Bill Hensley Run-N-Slam. I have already written the articles for the top players I saw <a href="https://prephoops.com/author/shane-garcia-author/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Friday night</a>. This article will be about the Under-the-Radar players I saw on Saturday.    Ziegler is a really nice scoring guard. He has good size and can play point guard with his ball handling ability even though he is best not as the primary ball handler so he can use his energy for scoring. When he sees a shot go in, he gets into a great rhythm. When he gets a 1-2 step into his shot, it hits the bottom of the net. He knocked down multiple threes. He provided consistent buckets. He then showed the ability to put a defender on his hip on the drives and finish at the rim as well.     I was impressed with Welch's motor. NW Ohio squad was playing in a massive pool game that dictated tournament bracket, and you could tell Welch really wanted to win. He showed competitive excellence. He was the ball handler and decision-maker for his squad and did a great job. He does a good job of putting defenders on his hip and getting to the rim. He dictates contact well when driving to the rim. He is a smart player and someone you want on your team.     Mamtuse is a nice athletic guard that can score the ball. He is a really good slasher in the half-court and a creative finisher around the rim. When he had the ball in transition, he made good decisions on either scoring it or hitting running teammates. He has good length for a point guard that you see him use on both ends of the floor. He has a nice shot, but he does not settle for it. When he is aggressive and attacking downhill, he is best.     I saw McQueen play in the 8am time slot and he did not show any tiredness. His game is to get downhill and put pressure on the rim. He has a nice handle and skillset that allows him to take his time to break down defenders, shift their hips, and then blow by them. He shot all of his shots at the rim because he could not get stopped. He has good air control and touch that allows him to make some shots others struggle with.     Hackett plays with an edge, and I love it. He plays the game ready to do whatever it takes to win. He is a physical player who is willing to test the other team's toughness. He has some good size and strength. He is not just a bully on the floor he has some finesse too. His jumper is smooth, and he is a knockdown catch-n-shooter. He plays the game the right way as well. He always makes the extra pass. Plays hard on defense. Aggressive when attacking the glass on both ends.
