Prep Hoops Live: Top 15U Fast Break Finishers

Let's take a look at which ball handlers really performed well this weekend as being the floor generals of their respective teams in the class of 2028 at Prep Hoops Live.      A smooth point that can create off the dribble in various ways. Was the primary ball handler taking on those responsibilities appropriately. Still possessed effective shooting and scoring abilities. Made a couple spot up 3's in the early morning Saturday game and looked poised doing so. Was mostly effective on the dribble drive getting a foot on the defender in open space or utilizing ball screens. Made a cool kickout after collapsing the defense on a take to the paint for a 3 assist.     Keeps the ball low to the ground with quick hard dribbles close to his body. Maintains control of the rock effectively against bigger or more athletic defenders when receiving 0 gap pressure. Usually has to since he's the smallest on the floor. A hard nosed guard that's tough to turn it over on and creates space with different speeds because of quickness. Had a cool baseline wrap around pass for a corner 3 assist and another kickout after penetration. Was efficient from beyond the arc knocking down a few 3's himself.     Plays alongside another solid point guard in the 1 or 2 slot. Gets up and down the floor quick to go along with handling abilities. Liked his aggression in the offensive full court break phase against a more athletic full court trap. Was able to beat the defense down the floor consistently. Had a couple smooth hesitation takes to the rim and cool backdoor finish off an EOB. Vision wise had good feel with dish offs in the lane and a pitch ahead. Converted on a couple treys as well going off the bounce and spotting up.       The smoothest ball handler I saw this weekend. Had an old school feel. Really smooth bounce and is crafty with it. His ability to read what the defense gave him was most impressive. Made some tough passes look easier than they were. Had a dime from the very top of the key to the basket and just thread the needle on it through traffic. Dropped off a couple more assists to his big in traffic and made some smooth passes in transition. Really shared it well. Finished with a catch and shoot 3 from an SOB play but is truly a point guard's point guard.     Plays in the off guard spot for his team that finished 3-1 on the weekend. Handles the ball well in that spot and can fill the point roll if necessary. Made a couple great dish off passes to teammates. One coming off a screen no look and another through the thick of traffic while penetrating. Made a cool finish in the lane over bigger size. Overall liked his ability and skill to see the floor at different angles getting his teammates involved.     Primarily handles it for his team but can fill it up in the scoring department as well. Caught his last game of the day on Saturday and he started out getting into rhythm early scoring 13 in the 1st half. A stockier build but is deceptively quick. Defensively had a steal and take to the other end. Has a smooth steady release on his shot and was successful from beyond the arc at good clip. Made a pull up jumper from 12 feet going off the dribble. In the ½ court set had a cut through in the lane and retrieved it to finish over taller size. Made another tough lay in with soft touch going off the bounce in the teeth of the D. A well balanced guard to keep an eye on.     Deceptively quick and smooth with the rock. Gives Nash vibes when handling with a high IQ and feel for the game. Hard to turn him over from a defensive standpoint. Sees the floor extremely well. Was playing without two of the better players I saw earlier this spring season on the team and still managed to gut out a victory as the floor general. Made a steal with good anticipation and took it coast to coast for a finish. Undersized yet makes his presence known on the glass. Tallied him for collecting two O boards and dishing out atleast a half a dozen assists. If there's an opening gap on offense he'll find it. A competitive gamer who likes to win.
