PH Live: 2028 1st Team Post Players

Prep Hoops Circuit came to Chicago this weekend for NCAA's live event. PHI got to see so many talented bigs who were in attendance showcasing their skills in the paint. Let's show the big men some love and go into detail what made these handful of post players stick out over the three day event.    Plays in the 4- or 5-man spots. Caught one game on Saturday and another on Sunday. Plays even keeled in the game's natural rhythm. Runs the floor at a good rate with or without the ball in the primary break phase. Went for a coast-to-coast lay in with the ball and converted on a couple other pitch ahead passes with one being an And1 finish. Presents a challenge in the paint defensively with length. Had a nice finish move on the block and smooth assist to a cutter. Can play around the perimeter as well. Splashed in a couple spot up 3's to capture team's 4th win of the weekend and seal their 1st place divisional finish.       Has a competitive spirited nature and plays selflessly on both ends. Stands at 6'1 but plays at a bigger size and can bang with good physicality down low. Was most impressed with the way he moved without the ball. Made a lot of on the ball screens for his two heavy scoring guards so they could go to work in space. Picked and popped or picked and rolled depending on reads. Posts hard on the block against bigger size. Aggressive boarder. A few great plays were a give and go with his guard, a spin move off the defenders weak side, and an O Board put back.     Helped team to a 3-1 finish on the weekend. Plays the team's primary 5 man. Possesses good capabilities down low. Really poised on the block and comfortable on the catch. There are very few post feeds in today's basketball and even less kickouts once the big receives it. Has great patience and confidence to let the play develop and naturally make a read. Had a handful of assists doing so to his two heavy scoring guards for 3's. Boarded with a lot of activity on both ends. Will stretch out a bit at times to knock down a 3. Nice touch with an O Board put back.     A long frame that can play the 4 or 5 spots. Did quite a bit of work underneath to keep team going at a high energy level. I liked his grit and scrappiness. Defensively made a steal and had a couple blocks on a similar size big and athletically is fit to challenge underneath on bigger size as well. Made a tough fadeaway from the block and another tough And1 on the base. Is able finish and use length effectively. A gamer. Splashed in a last second shot in regulation to send the game to OT.     Well built frame and moves well for a 4 or 5 man. Can guard on smaller size with his mobility and good angles he takes defensively. Had two clean takeaways with anticipation for fast break lay ins. Made a couple D boards and pitch ahead passes to convert on primary opportunities. In the ½ court set he made multiple successful drives to the cup with one being for an And1. Cuts hard in space and splashed in a corner 3. Helped lead team to 4-0 on the weekend and finished with team high 13 points in championship game.
