NEXT Mayhem in the Plex: Top Performing Duos

The 13/14U division came with three top performing duo's that impressed me throughout the weekend. These duo's work together well to impact both ends of the floor. In this article I will go over these duos in depth!    Curdarrius [player_tooltip player_id='2382176' first='Hunter' last=''] is a point guard that has a good sense of pace at a young age with a combination of IQ skills. When handling the ball, he knows how to put defenders on his back forcing defenders to help which opens up space for his teammates to thrive in the half court. Curdarrius is capable of scoring on all three levels especially from the perimeter when open.      Ethan Liddie had great production inside the paint on both ends of the floor holding it down for [player_tooltip player_id='2409931' first='ProLyfe' last='Elite'] 13u. Offensively he did a good job of finishing around the basket even with contact being drawn at times. Defensively he had moments of good rim protection blocking shots and making players adjust their shots near the basket. Ethan plays a huge role on his team being very important frame wise in the front court.        On Sunday J Sanchez did a good job of attacking the middle of basket all game long taking advantage of his mismatch offensively. After a couple made baskets in the paint against Royal Rush Elite 14U he found an offensive rhythm that was encouraged by his coach throughout the game showing that the coach believes in him. Throughout J's offensive rhythm he finished through contact and got to the free throw line multiple times. It was great to watch J listen to his coach and execute when it mattered most in the most important parts of the game against Royal Rush Elite 14U.       Deandre Rice is a good ball handler using his length to protect the ball from defenders trying to take the ball away from him. With the ball in hands, his vision as a facilitator in different offensive situations such as pick & rolls, in transition or in sets he finds holes within defenses to make plays. His hustle was evident willing to crash the offensive glass multiple times throughout the weekend. Defensively he uses his physical tools to steal the ball out of ball handler's hands pick pocketing them into transition opportunities.     Latrealle Johnson was very impactful throughout the weekend especially offensively for Royal Flush Elite 14U. Offensively he is very capable of getting to the basket and shoot from the perimeter when open. When driving to the basket he draws a lot of contact getting him to the free throw line a lot where he is efficient at. Defensively he gets steals from ball handlers poking the ball out by staying disciplined sliding his feet well. At times due to his hustle, he will block shots too showing good anticipation.     Jakeem Randle is a speedy point guard that excelled in transition on both wings of the floor throughout the weekend. He uses his speed to his advantage with the ball in his hands especially in the open floor. If a defense doesn't pick him up off a made basket or in transition, he will most likely go coast to coast. Defensively he is active with his hands and can move his feet well.
