The annual CBG Memorial Day Showcase took place on Saturday in Richmond, featuring some of the top teams from across the state in a one day event full of high level bump.

With the event featuring a lot of the top independent teams in the state, there were plenty of prospects who made a name for themselves, just in time for the updated rankings coming out next month.

Here's a look at 8 unranked players who showed why they deserve to be in the next rankings with their high level play.

Fitzgerald was a player I had heard good things about so far this spring, and he was as good as advertised as he had a big time showing against two very good teams in CBG Elite and VA Havoc this weekend. A 2027 that is playing up on this Higher Level group, he showed a lot of tools that will translate well to the next level with his versatility. He handled it well and got to spots in the midrange and at the rim, he finished well through traffic with both hands, he showed good athleticism with some big time finishes, and he rounded it out well on the defensive end and hitting the glass too.

Myles Turner | 6'2” CG | Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] 17U

Turner had a productive weekend for 804 in a couple of wins, and the Thomas Dale guard showed the ability to impact the game in a lot of different ways. He's a big and physical guard who will use his strength to wear down opponents defensively and hits the glass well for his size. He moves well off the ball and runs the floor for easy buckets in transition, he finishes well in traffic and he can knock down open shots from deep and in the midrange too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2880092' first='Tyreek' last='Lundy'] | 6'0” PG | Dream Chasers 17U

Lundy is one of those players who is from a small market as he plays for Class 1 Northumberland in the Northern Neck, but when I watched him I was highly impressed to do some research, and his resume checks out with the way he played this weekend. Lundy's a two sport star who starts at quarterback and point guard, he was a First Team All State selection and has already eclipsed 1,000 points as a junior, none of which was surprising after a first watch. He's a big time athlete who has great speed in transition with the ball in his hands, he's shifty and gets to the rim at will, he can score it from multiple levels and he's a very good on ball defender too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399485' first='Samuel' last='Seaborn'] | 6'5” WG | [program_tooltip program_id='2078813' first='VA' last='Premier'] 16U

Seaborn was a name I was hearing a lot about from the Charlottesville area after a breakout sophomore season at Western Albemarle, and after watching him it's not a stretch to say that division one coaches should have him on their radar. At 6'5” with long arms Seaborn has prototypical positional size, and quite a lot of game to go along with it. In a matchup with [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA'] he showed his ability to drill it from deep at a high clip without a ton of room, he showed he can handle it in transition and get to the rim in the half court where he's a solid finisher, and he was super efficient scoring 22 points while only missing one shot throughout the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898040' first='Tyson' last='Harper'] | 6'0” CG | Team Loaded 757 16U

Harper was part of a very good backcourt on this Loaded 757 group who won two impressive games on the weekend, and the King's Fork guard has a lot to his game that would make any coach happy. He's a scrappy and skilled combo guard who is a dual threat as a scorer and a playmaker, and his all-around game allows his team to use him a lot of different ways. He shoots the ball well from deep off the catch, he has a quick first step and gets in the paint where he can make plays for others, and he has great instincts defensively to jump passing lanes and stay in front of ball handlers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898069' first='Trey' last='Thompson'] | 5'11” PG | Higher Level 16U

Thompson was another guard who was very impressive over the weekend, as Higher Level played some very good teams and he not only held his own but showed he can play with the best of them. The Fauquier guard brings a mentality you love to see in a lead guard, as he showed a lot of toughness and a competitive chip as he didn't back down from anyone, and his game matches that mentality as well. He showed that he can knock it down from deep off the catch at a high clip, he's lightning quick off and very shifty off the bounce, he can make tough shots at the rim and in the midrange, and he brings great energy on the defensive end too.

Desmond Clark | 6'0” CG | Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] 16U

Clark had a solid sophomore season for a young Manchester team on the rise, and I expect him to have an even bigger season next year after watching the way he can score it this past weekend. The 6'0” combo guard finished with 19 points in a win over a good [program_tooltip program_id='2078813' first='VA' last='Premier'] team, showing a good package both on and off the ball and scoring it efficiently from all three levels. He shot the ball well from deep off the catch, he got to spots off the bounce, he finished well in traffic and he was an unselfish playmaker too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919007' first='Johnny' last='Resta'] | 6'2” WG | NOVA Cavs 15U

Resta played on the JV team at Bishop O'Connell this past year, but the way he played this weekend it's clear that it won't be long until he's making a name for himself as a shooter and scorer in the DMV area. Resta went for 31 points in one of their wins, sitting much of the second half due to the blow out, and as you can imagine he showed he can fill it up effortlessly. He shot the ball extremely well from deep hitting 7 three's on a high clip, he showed he can get to spots off the bounce and he showed a lot of confidence in his game for such a young player.
