May 2nd-4th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched almost every team in 17U and 16U and some of the 15U teams to form a good opinion of the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674654' first='Julius' last='Carlisle'] San Tan Foothills (AZ Unity 16 Silver)

A quick on quick ball handler is a blur in the open court. He seems like he can create his own offense at will as the ball is on a string for him. He is very hard to keep in front of you and he has a quick release from the three point line. He is also a needle threader making plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423061' first='King' last='Fields'] Pinnacle (Peak 16 Regional)

A scoring guard will pour in points quickly. He scores with fall aways from mid-range, inside buckets, his floater game is super polished and he can hit the three with a quick release. The long armed guard is tough on defense and once he gets stronger watch out.

[player_tooltip player_id='2853933' first='Trey' last='McClure'] Chandler (AZ Unity 16 Silver) (Pictured)

A wing forward who loves to get downhill with a stronger frame/build. He can hit the catch three in the corner and create his own offense. He rebounds well in is area with his length and build and will score with offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2837153' first='Jackson' last='Murray'] Laramie/CO ([program_tooltip program_id='2075812' first='Rocky' last='Mountain Fever'] 16 Black)

A scoring guard who can shoot it from the three point line and get on the glass. He is very good in the passing lanes and will defend in space and block shots. He will score with rip thrus to the basket and shows plus body control. He is a sneaky good passer and he is a top shooter from the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2398189' first='Jaimeson' last='Peterson'] Fossil Ridge/CO ([program_tooltip program_id='2076181' first='State' last='38 Basketball'] 16)

A scoring lead guard will score it with off the dribble jumpers from mid-range and quick dribble drives to the basket with his dominant right hand. He can shoot it from deep off the catch and rebounds the ball well in his area with above average verticality for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146238' first='Victor' last='Vu'] Apollo ([program_tooltip program_id='2144495' first='Team' last='Elevate'] 16)

An undersized scoring lead guard is a bucket. He will score with pull-ups from mid-range and deep threes with range with a super quick trigger. He changes speeds well to keeps defenses off balanced. He is a pest on the ball defensively and brings great energy to the court. He also can make his teammates better.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292817' first='Kadin' last='Williams'] Sunnyslope (Peak 16 Regional)

A long and skinny shooting guard with good size. He uses his size to rebound at a good rate in his area and get to the free throw line. He will rattle in triples off the catch with a nice looking stroke and shows upside.
