Additional Day 7 DeMatha Summer League Standouts

A big part of that is what their backcourt has done defensively. I talked about [player_tooltip player_id='2605296' first='Messiah' last='Dixon']'s defense, but his backcourt partner [player_tooltip player_id='2148679' first='Willie' last='Bennett'] is right there with him. Willie is a tenacious perimeter defender who hounds opposing guards. Willie does well as a driver and can hit jump shots. Willie is what you would call a glue guy who fits in perfectly with this talented Fairfax Christian squad. He is the ideal backup PG to have. He has a high IQ and can operate as the facilitator and lead ball handler for an offense. He is a reliable three-point shooter and gets after it defensively like the other Fairfax Christian guards. Alex Sidbury is another good example of that. I love the energy he plays with on both ends. Alex has good touch around the rim and finishes through contact. He is a good rebounder and can get buckets out of the post. What stands out with Dekare is the physicality and strength he plays with. He has a nice handle and is difficult to stay in front of. He does a fantastic job getting to the rim, and he is an elite athlete. That athleticism and his ability to finish with both hands make him hard to stop as a slasher. I loved his effort on defense as well. This was not a very high-scoring game, and many players struggled to make shots, so what Jaiden did offensively was probably the biggest difference in the game. Jaiden knocked down spot-up threes and was efficient in shooting the ball over the court. Brian has a great motor and good athleticism. He does a great job attacking the rim, and he is not an elite jump shooter but is a big enough threat to keep you honest.
