LADERA RANCH — The Open Gym Premier facility in Ladera Ranch, Calif. played host to the first 3SSB session of the club season. Adidas sponsored teams from the west coast and beyond came to Southern California for a four-game live period tune up. Below are the standout wings we watched on the 17u level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2281701' first='Bruce' last='Branch III'] | 2027 | Compton Magic

Branch is as physically and athletically gifted a prospect as you'll find anywhere in the 2027 class and when you watch the skill he brings to the floor, combined with the next-level frame, you have the makings of a power conference wing. The Arizona-based sophomore is a smooth perimeter creator off the bounce who can hunt his mid-range spots, attack them, and elevate into a balanced mid-range jumper. Branch is also a cutter, slasher and finisher in transition and half-court offense who can elevate quickly off the floor for above the rim finishes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1703078' first='Caeden' last='Hutcherson'] | 2026 | Jalen Green Elite

Hutcherson has always been a big time catch-and-shoot threat with deep range behind the arc but we saw some improvements to his ball handling and off-dribble creation over the weekend. The 6-foot-5 junior can play a variety of positions on the perimeter due to his offensive versatility and used his size and strength advantages to get to the rim, absorb bumps, and finish on balance in the paint.

Christian Wiggins | 2026 | D1 Minnesota

Wiggins is a long, physical and athletic wing whose game really lines up nicely with the analytical approach that a lot of college teams are taking: Open three's and at-rim finishes. Wiggins is a consistent perimeter shooting threat off the catch who can also attack closeouts for straight-line drive finishes at the rim. Wiggins strong frame allows him to stay on balance through contact and finish his high percentage looks at the rim.

Jacob Webber | 2026 | ETG

Webber is a prospect who can light it up from three-point range. At 6-feet-6, the junior wing has good positional size, picturesque shooting mechanics and a quick release on his jumper. When you add all of that into a package that also includes elite balance and deep range consistency and you end up with one of the better pure shooters in this event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435359' first='Jeremiah' last='Profit'] | 2027 | Gamepoint

Profit is a wired-to-score type of prospect who is always in attack mode on that end of the floor. The 6-foot-5 wing knocks down off-catch and off-dribble three's with consistency but also mixes in a good balance of mid-range jumpers and straight-line drive finishes at the rim in transition. Profit can get going quickly on the offensive end and run off a string of scoring possessions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482165' first='Rider' last='Portela'] | 2026 | Compton Magic

Portela seems a bit under-appreciated as a prospect in the 2026 class and will pan out to be an excellent college player. The 6-foot-5 wing impacts the game in every aspect from defensive versatility to rim pressure on drives to finishing ability and the little things that help a team win. Portela has shown the ability to guard 1-4 at the high school level, rebounds in and out of his area on both ends and is willing to do the dirty work and make extra effort plays.
