It is very impressive that Utah has 3 Prep-Schools in general but 3 schools that play at a high level and have been attractive some of the top talent in the country and world at times. A lot of times proof is what kids are looking for when they leave their home and head to another school that does not follow the traditional route. Proof of winning, developing and producing.

Wasatch Academy

Not only is Wasatch Academy one of the oldest schools in the state it is also the OG prep school in the state as well. About 15 years ago Geno Morgan came through to Utah via Chicago and not only transformed the small boarding school, he did so well teams would protest and stall and hold the ball for entire halfs just to have a chance to beat this team. Wasatch Academy has produced a lot of college talent and now with Paul Peterson at the helm there seems to be a common theme, and that is that Wasatch Academy not only plays in the best league in the country they can compete with just about anyone. they have also started ot produce NBA bound talent. Collin Murray-Boyles is about to get drafted. Nolan Hickman is playing well at Gonzaga. Jackson Rowe is on the Warriors and [player_tooltip player_id='1532052' first='Isiah' last='Harwell'] might be the next big name on the list.

Up next for Wasatch is [player_tooltip player_id='1278435' first='Junior' last='County'] and Katrell Harmon but they will need to reload and i am sure they are getting calls from all over the world.

Utah Prep

Utah Prep spawned from a school once known as RSL Academy but with some changes made they soon moved campuses and became Salt Lake Academy, then new donors came and a partnership that made them Utah Prep. With a mixture of a few local kids and a lot of out of state and players from different countries Utah Prep made a name for themselves. 3 Coaches in less than 24 months and Utah Prep is ready to reload. Aj Dybansta was the draw as they traveled from state to state and even to China as they played a National schedule. Dybansta will be a one and done and [player_tooltip player_id='1532662' first='JJ' last='Mandaquit'] is at Washington as an early enrollee. A few more players are scattered at different schools but Utah Prep is set to have one of the best players in the country and likely the best player in the class of 2026 in Utah in [player_tooltip player_id='1278443' first='Anthony' last='Felesi']. Felesi is playing out of his mind and then you add the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='2511635' first='Jackson' last='Kiss'], excited to see what other players get added to the roster.

Layton Christian Academy

LCA has been known to have kids from all over the country. The small school in Northern Utah has had a history of solid players and winning State Championships, but much like Wasatch Academy the small local school did not want them to compete against them and they have been almost forced to go independent. LCA has started to become anotehr school and another destination for players to attend, get better and move on to the next level. The past few seasons LCA has been making noise and just last year helped develop and produce a player like [player_tooltip player_id='1575685' first='Tyrin' last='Jones'] who is headed to UNLV. Jones has a so much upside and in a matter of a few years in high school (junior, senior) he made a significant jump. They have picked up a few commitments already including [player_tooltip player_id='2531789' first='Oscar' last='Boedker'] a 6'7 Class of 2027 wing. This program could likely make a big jump this season.
