[program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] 17U Gets Bucket with 2 Seconds Left for Win

First up was a close game between [program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] and Big 3 in a fun 16U contest. It looked like Big 3 was going to win, but a shot by [player_tooltip player_id='2398290' first='Jack' last='Levy'] with a couple seconds on the clock on a scramble play. The prospect that jumped off the floor to us was [player_tooltip player_id='2125669' first='Nicholas' last='Schubkegel']. The Hinsdale Central 6'6” four man has broad shoulders and good strength. Can stretch the floor with his shooting, plays physical blocking out in the paint, and blocked shots. He had 9 points. AJ Torres of York is a 6'0” point guard that is a scrappy floor general that passes with flair and can win on straight line takes along with a solid jumper. Plays with creativity. Scored 10 points. Another York product Will Sherman is a tough guard that had spinning layups, give and goes, hit a three ball, and notched a tough and-1 en route to 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125600' first='Collin' last='Tierney'] was the prospect that stood out for Big 3. The Conant shooting guard has some projectability as a plus shot maker off the catch. Poured in three of them along with showing some flashes defensively ending with 11 points. Wheaton North big man [player_tooltip player_id='2438957' first='Jacob' last='Johnson'] who was active as a shot blocker with some athletic pop. Geneva shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2125574' first='Aaron' last='Masoncup'] dropped 8 points banging in a pair of threes while Fenwick guard Colin Dunleavy showed toughness getting downhill.

Evanston Duo Led Powerhouse 17U over Illinois Stars

Powerhouse 17U-2 was impressive winning 55-34 against Illinois Stars 17-2. Big man Mekhi Collins is a wide bodied five at 6'6” that is built like an offensive/defensive tackle on the gridiron. He was super productive in this game as he is extremely light on his feet for his size along with efficient with his touch in the paint. He even handled it some in transition going coast to coast for 16 points. Reed Murtos is a 6'3” two guard that can really shoot it from deep and has some pop off the bounce scoring 12 points.

For Illinois Stars a couple Downers Grove South guys caught our attention. [player_tooltip player_id='2617411' first='Kaleb' last='Istvanik'] didn't shoot it as well as he usually does, but there is no denying his clean shot from distance. Jayden Lovelady is a guard that knocked in some threes and was active defensively as he had 8 points.

Holstine Shows Out as Ronnie Fields Elite 17U Closes Night with Win over CBG

What a performance Nazareth shooting guard Sawyer Holstine put on to get his Ronnie Fields Elite team a 63-57 victory on Friday night. The 6'3” two guard has a nice frame and is a flame thrower from deep pouring them in one after another off the catch and ball screens. Can also deck it as he got to the rim for spinning layups and runners. Solid passer as well that had 23 points. Unsigned senior [player_tooltip player_id='1598755' first='Matthew' last='Callahan'] is a skilled four that can run the floor and has touch with both hands around the hoop.

CBG was pushed by [player_tooltip player_id='2830800' first='Tony' last='Salemi'] who hit some mid-range jumpers early, stretched it to three, and had a monster off hand dunk in their comeback attempt. The Wauconda 2026 guard has shot making and athletic gifts. Next step in development is refining his decision making and turnovers. Matthew Lesnik out of Wisconsin showed flashes as a tough shot maker and bucket getter. He is an unsigned senior.
