The Pure Sweat Spring Showcase on Tuesday night was a great opportunity for PHI to check in on some talented prospects from southern Illinois. Here we dive into the prospects that caught our attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='2831779' first='Myles' last='Guthman'] (Murphysboro – 2026)

This Murphysboro 6'4” junior wing really made an impression with his play throughout the evening. He has good positional size on the wing with a skill set to match. Consistently knocked down three point shots all night long. He hit them spotting up along with creating on his own. Like his handles and ability to pass off a live dribble. Also rebounds well in his area. Worth continuing to monitor this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323319' first='Colton' last='Hawkins'] (Carterville – 2026)

Hawkins continues to stand out each time we see him play. The 6'4” shooting guard has quality size and strength on the perimeter. He is a crisp ball handler that can get to the rack where he finishes very well through contact. Aggressive on straight line takes to the rack. Plus three point shooter from three. Solid secondary passer and rebounds well for a guard.

Cayden Young (Harrisburg – 2025)

Young was one of the few unsigned seniors at the event. This is a prospect that had missed time due to injury and we had not seen. Definitely should be under consideration for JUCOs and small colleges. He stands at 6'4 with a frame to continue to add strength. Small forward that poured in threes throughout the evening along with a tough turnaround jumper. Also flashed defensively with his shot blocking and length.

[player_tooltip player_id='1977254' first='Luke' last='Smith'] (Althoff – 2026)

Smith was a key member of the 2A state runner up team at Althoff his past season. He is a skilled utility guard that can do a little bit of everything. Crisp passer, quality shooter from mid-range along with three, and is a nifty scorer around the hoop. Made an array of tough layups throughout the evening.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125643' first='Jaxson' last='Hancock'] (Centralia – 2027)

Hancock is a rock solid point guard that makes sound decisions with the ball. Excellent feel for the game which was shown in this setting as he dished the rock with regularity. Advanced vision seeing the floor as the son of a college coach. Crafty scorer on scoop shots and layups in the paint. Active defender getting his hands on some steals and hit a top of the key three ball.

Will Lehman (Carbondale – 2028)

Lehman is a 6'3” wing that has nice height early in the process. He made quite a few impactful plays on the defensive end in the up and down setting blocking shots along with crashing the offensive glass for second chance points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2383643' first='Lake J' last='Trovillion'] (Vienna – 2027)

This 6'0” shooting guard was seen consistently doing damage in transition. He scored quite a few times in the open floor along with flashing as a shot maker.

Harper Lustenerger (Carterville – 2028)

Like the potential with this 2028 6'2” wing. Has good bloodlines, projectability and a sweet looking jumper from 15 feet out to three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2831746' first='Austin' last='Swalley'] (Greenville – 2027)

This 6'0” guard is a sophomore that was consistently attacking the rack throughout the night with strong takes on shot fakes and straight line drives to the rack. Also cut off the ball for a bucket and got his hands on steals defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2383364' first='Bryson' last='McClanahan'] (DuQuoin – 2027)

Smaller guard at 5'9” that is crafty with the rock in his hands. Shot fakes for a score and put it on the deck with either hand.

Kyler Willmore (Sesser-Valier – 2025)

Willmore was the other unsigned senior in attendance. He stands at 6'0” with a thick frame as a combo guard with broad shoulders. Really shot the ball well from beyond the arc nailing and array of threes.

Braxton Dann (Herrin – 2026)

Dann is a 6'1” two guard that flashed with his long strides and athleticism at the event. Capable shooter as well, but the athletic ability and developmental upside was what popped to me.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423207' first='Kaeden' last='Bevolo'] (Salem – 2027)

Bevolo is from my hometown and is a nice prospect to continue to track at 6'2”. The shooting guard proved to be a quality shooter knocking in a corner three along with crisp mid-range shots. Also had a sweet euro step for a bucket in the lane.
