April is almost here with May less than 10 days away, meaning AAU season is in full swing. The 2028 might have only played one varsity season, but they are primed to make an impact this spring. Here are the Non-Public A small forwards to watch this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763632' first='Zymere' last='Weaver'], 6'4 St. Thomas Aquinas

Weaver starred on the gridiron as the Trojans' quarterback, but he also flashed on the hardwood. The 6'4 forward attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Weaver moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is a solid rebounder. Weaver's ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his stock over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763590' first='Tahj' last='Gray'], 6'2 St. Joseph (Mont.)

Gray is similar to Weaver as he also made plays on the gridiron and hardwood during his debut varsity season. The 6'2 forward has a nice first step, which he uses to get past his defender and finishes well around the basket. Gray can also get position down low and can pass out of the post. He works for rebounds on both ends of the floor and slides his feet on the defensive end. Gray is a physical forward prospect who should grind out plays in the post over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2414310' first='Bridgie' last='McMillan'], 6'5 Bergen Catholic

McMillan has the ability to play either forward spot, making him an intriguing prospect to watch in the class. The 6'5 forward plays with composure on the ball as he rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure and uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor. McMillan is a good finisher around the basket and has a high release on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. McMillan is a talented forward prospect who should put his game on display this spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763634' first='Triston' last='Harvey'], 6'4 St. Thomas Aquinas

Weaver isn't the only 2028 small forward to watch for the Trojans as Harvey made an impact in his first high school season. The 6'4 forward moves well without the ball in his hands and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. Harvey has a good touch around the basket and his range extends out to the three-point line. He is a solid rebounder and is an underrated defender. Harvey had four double-digit games last season and is looking to carry over that scoring into the spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2683638' first='RJ' last='Wicks'], 6'6 Union Catholic

Wicks has the potential to break out this spring as he should get more touches on the offensive end. The 6'6 forward uses his size to rise up over his defender in the mid-range and has a high release on his jumper. Wicks can also get to the rim off the bounce and is an underrated passer. He uses his long arms to be disruptive on the defensive end and can push the pace in transition. Wicks is a lanky forward prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the spring and summer.
