2 Cities 1 GASO HTX: Players to Put on Your Radar

The 2 Cities 1 GASO tour was in full effect, utilizing both Dallas and Houston for big stakes competition and a proving ground to help athletes make their names known. Prep Hoops Texas was in attendance at the Houston event, covering games all weekend and highlighting teams who made statements. Jaxson is a good decision maker and sets the pace of the game when he is the main ballhandler. He knows when to attack and when to shoot, given the defender leaves him space. Thompson uses quick speed and careful ballhandling to beat the defense to his spots and is an efficient finisher under the basket. Richardson was playing up on 17u this weekend as a 2027 guard and was still one of the best IQ players on the court. He is effective off the pick and roll, either dishing to an open teammate for a quick bucket or using quickness of the dribble to score over his matchup and the tough defense. Sellers was one of the main contributors for this squad during the tournament as he was a consistent slasher going to the rim and drawing fouls to give his team second chance points at the line. I was also impressed with Andrew's hustle and ability to put his body on the line for loose balls and his defense was infectious for the rest of the team on that end of the floor. The high-flying combo guard got several putbacks above the basket and couldn't be stopped on his way to the rim and got numerous blocks on defense, as well as coming down with clutch rebounds. Sloan recently committed to Mississippi Delta Community College, and he will be looked upon to help provide leadership for this Team Imperial squad as the summer continues.
