got paint touches whenever he wanted, using high pickups and crafty footwork to split traffic. He handled perimeter pressure with ease, breaking defenders down with tight, shifty handles while creating angles with spins and behind-the-back moves. His touch was exceptional on floaters, runners, and contested finishes, making off-balance layups look routine with either hand.

has been on a tear all season, locking himself in as one of the top scorers in Texas and a true Division I steal for Rice. He plays with an edge that you can feel from the moment he steps on the court—chip on his shoulder, fire in his game, and a motor that just doesn’t quit. His scoring package is deep: pull-ups, floaters, deep threes, and tough finishes through contact. What separates Jaxson is the work ethic—he’s in the gym relentlessly, and the results speak for themselves both live and on film. Rice is getting a high-character, high-production guard ready to make noise early.

delivered a dominant performance with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. A deliberate floor general, he played with full control of the ball and the offense, shifting defenses with his passes or getting paint touches with his first step. Thompson consistently brought the ball up the court in the slot, giving himself early one-on-one advantages and direct angles to the nail, where he made quick, decisive reads possession after possession. In fast-paced situations, he was excellent at drawing attention and forcing defenders to collapse, allowing him to kick out to teammates trailing the break or spacing to the wings. For a point guard, Thompson showcased high-level leaping ability, finishing above the rim and rebounding on both ends in game-changing fashion. Jaxson’s elite motor stood out as well as he never gave up on a play and constantly made up for mistakes with relentless hustle, winning 50/50 balls and chasing down fastbreak attempts.

, a recent commit from Rice University, showcased his potential to compete at a high level at GASO. With the ball in his hands, he poses a significant threat, especially when driving downhill. His explosive finishing ability allows him to finish through contact and even dunk the ball, as seen when he dunked against Dallas Kimball. Thompson also creates mismatches by backing down smaller defenders into fadeaway pull-ups. Throughout his time on the court, he rarely takes plays off, maintaining a high level of activity throughout both halves. Defensively, he disrupts passing lanes, resulting in steals, and keeps up the pace of opposing ball handlers.

A self-described gym rat, Thompson continues to refine his offensive game—most notably with a smoother, more consistent three-point stroke and added vertical pop. He plays with confidence, reads the floor well, and competes on every possession. His development arc and commitment to growth make him an excellent fit at Rice, where his shooting and toughness will shine.

was perhaps the most electric and quickest player I was able to watch Friday in his game against Melissa. Thompson shouldered the scoring load from Greenhill, displaying elite shot making from all 3 levels and beating matchups off the dribble with a lightning fast first step. Jaxson has been lighting it up this summer playing for JL3 EYBL and continued to make waves at TABC playing for Dallas Greenhill, looking like the elite prospect he is proving himself to be lately. He has recently garnered offers from Rice, New Mexico State, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Look for him to continue to make waves throughout grassroots and the fall season.
