The Race for Mr. Basketball: The Top Ten

Moments ago the Mr. Basketball Top Ten was announced. Here is the top ten! And snubs? I would say there is maybe one snub but not many as this looks to be a pretty strong list where it would be tough to pull a guy off of it.

The Top Ten

CJ Armstrong CJ Armstrong 6'4" | CG Richfield | 2025 State #302 Nation MN of Richfield. Armstrong has Richfield in the top ten which has surprised teams this year. Armstrong is scoring 31.4 points per game for the Spartans . He will play for Augustana next year.

Micah Curtis Micah Curtis 6'8" | PF St. Louis Park | 2025 State MN of St. Louis Park. Curtis got StLP into the top ten early in the season which was a surprise. Curtis is scoring 29 points with ten rebounds a game. He is headed to North Dakota next season.

Isa El-Amin Isa El-Amin 5'11" | PG Minnetonka | 2025 State MN of Minnetonka. Tonka is a top ten team and they have done that to the surprise of everybody outside their locker room. El-Amin is scoring 25 points a game while leading Tonka in assists. El-Amin is undecided for next season.

Nolan Groves Nolan Groves 6'5" | CG Orono | 2025 State #259 Nation MN of Orono. Groves saw one teammate lost to an injury, he lost another friend/teammate to a tragic accident, and still has his team in the top ten all season despite a lack of depth. Groves is averaging 34.5 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals per game. Groves is headed to Yale next year.

Brogan Madson Brogan Madson 6'1" | PG Mankato East | 2025 State MN of Mankato East. East is number one in Class AAA and their only loss is to Hopkins, the top team in Class AAAA. Madson leads East with 24.5 points, five assists, and five rebounds a game shooting 41 percent at the arc for a deep and balanced team. Madison is headed to Sioux Falls next year for college.

Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | CG Hopkins | 2025 State MN of Hopkins. The Royals are the number one team in Class AAAA and he is their leading scoring option. Smith is scoring 24.5 points a game shooting 40 percent at the arc with four boards and four assists a contest. Smith is undecided for next season.

Chase Thompson Chase Thompson 6'8" | PF Alexandria | 2025 State #216 Nation MN of Alexandria. Thompson has Alex at second in the state after playing a strong schedule. Thompson is scoring 26 points a game with a dozen rebounds a contest. He is headed to Clemson next year.

Tyler Wagner Tyler Wagner 6'6" | SF Champlin Park | 2025 State #366 Nation MN of Champlin Park. Wagner has led the Rebels into the top ten for nearly the entire season. Wagner is scoring 28 points a game as one of the state's top shooters. Wagner is undecided for next season.

Chace Watley Chace Watley 6'1" | PG Totino-Grace | 2025 State MN of Totino-Grace. Watley has kept TG as one of the best Class AAA teams in the state taking the lead after seeing a couple teammates transfer. Watley is scoring 23 points a game with five assists and six rebounds a contest. Watley is headed to Wofford next year.

Jalen Wilson Jalen Wilson 6'7" | PF Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State #230 Nation MN of Benilde-St. Margaret's. Wilson has battled through tragedy this year to have another excellent season pushing the Knights to another league title and they were number one in Class AAA for half of the year. Wilson is averaging 21.5 points and just under 11 boards leading his team in those categories as well as blocks and field goal percentage. Wilson will play for Northern Iowa next year.

Top 3 Snubs

Tommy Ahneman Tommy Ahneman 6'11" | PF Cretin-Derham Hall | 2025 State #315 Nation MN of Cretin-Derham Hall. Ahneman is averaging 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and two blocks a game. He missed eight games this winter. Tommy is headed to Notre Dame. If anybody is a snub it would be Tommy, but he is likely the only one. If he is one.

Azayah Washington Azayah Washington 6'3" | PG St. Cloud Apollo | 2025 State MN of St. Cloud Apollo. Washington is scoring 31 points a game this year. He will play for St. Cloud State next season.

The Third..... I can't even really give you one. I expected to with this list but I just don't have another one to throw in here as I believe the top twelve names here were the clear top twelve candidates.
