The Biggest Game of the Year in North Louisiana

On March 6, 2025, Wossman High School will host the biggest game of the year. The Wossman Wildcats will face off against the Bastrop Rams in a game featuring some of the top players in the state from every class, graduating seniors to impactful freshmen. Damarian Deal (Carroll High School) and Antron Mason ll (Wossman High School) both left teams that competed in the Semi-Finals last season to team up in their hometown of Bastrop, La to try and bring a Championship to the city. I will break down some of the key players and their potential impact on tonight's game. These players will hold the keys to victory in a matchup that will bring two communities together for one night and determine the favorite to compete for a state championship. In the past he was known for his ability to facilitate and defend, but this year he has volved into a jack of all trades doing whatever is required to win. Weeks is a special talent, and the team will depend on him to do whatever the game needs on the biggest stage in front of a home crowd.      Mason might just be the most important player on the court tonight. His scoring prowess has captivated local fans, but tonight's game could be the biggest of his local career. A threat from three-point range, deadly in the mid-range, and able to finish through contact at the rim, Mason can score at all three levels. Add in his high-level defense and you have a complete player. A college-ready point guard with the skills to make an impact at the next level, Mason's return to Bastrop after winning a championship with Wossman has been a major storyline. Now, the question is: can he lead Bastrop to the Semi-Finals?     Deal is one piece of the dynamic duo along with Antron Mason. Deal has evolved into one of the best scorers and playmakers in the state. Deal is comfortable playing with the ball in his hands or off the ball. He is an elite three-point shooter, mid-range shot maker and finisher at the rim. His is instant offense, and Wossman will have their hands full trying to slow him down.     A tough defender and constant scoring threat, Mays is a player to watch. After three years as a role player for Wossman, his senior season has been nothing short of special. He has emerged as one of the area's best scorers and a relentless competitor whose energy on both ends of the court will be a major factor in deciding this game. If the defensive game plan focuses on slowing down Weeks, expect Mays to showcase his scoring and playmaking abilities for the Wossman offense. He's a true force multiplier, capable of punishing opponents in a variety of ways.     Mackey could be the X-factor in tonight's game. His ability to control the boards and finish around the rim is crucial for Wossman's success. All season, he's been a dominant force inside, consistently grabbing rebounds, protecting the rim, and racking up deflections, blocks, and steals. Even when his scoring isn't prolific, Mackey's impact is undeniable. This is a matchup Wossman may look to exploit, as Bastrop isn't known for its size, and Mackey's presence in the paint will be essential – a challenge he's ready to embrace.    In addition to the previously mentioned players, Wossman will rely on Morgan Robinson for his defensive pressure and offensive abilities. Wossman's freshman standout, Caderrius Williams, will have to assert his physicality on both ends of the court. He has already established himself as one of the top freshmen in the state. For Bastrop, Adameyon Moore has stepped into the role of scorer, continually improving his game and showing up in big moments. If he can get hot, Bastrop could upset the hometown favorite Wossman Wildcats.
