<p>2-seed Southern Wake Academy hosted 15-seed Warren County in the second round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs on Friday night. Southern Wake Academy would open the game up with their pressure defense and build an early 8-0 lead before the Eagles would get things going. <br></p>

<p>After 1, SWA led 15-8 as they figured out the Eagles defensive approach. Brian Epperson set quite the tone with his play on the interior and his teammates quickly fed off his energy. [player_tooltip player_id='2123684' first='Se' last='Surmons'] finished with 20 points. <br></p>

<p>In the second quarter, the Lions would really get things going with [player_tooltip player_id='1797957' first='Kobe' last='Plata'] leading the way. He would score 12 of his game-high 22 total points in the quarter. He also had seven assists. Play of the game was a big And-1 opportunity at the buzzer to cap an 11-2 run and build their lead out to 44-17 at the half. <br></p>

<p>In the second half, a few big plays from [player_tooltip player_id='1262468' first='Ira' last='Wilson'] allowed SWA to keep their distance on the scoreboard. Wilson nearly finished with a triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists. </p>

<p>After three quarters, SWA was well in command and the subsitutes were unloaded on both benches. The Lions cruised to a 73-41 victory in the end. </p>

<p>SWA will host Chatham Central in the NCHSAA Sweet 16 1A State Playoffs. </p>
