I watched three OPEN games with the two semi-final games and the OPEN finals.

The first OPEN semi had #2 seed Sunnyslope took on #3 seed Millennium. It was a tight game from start to finish. It was around 5 points most of the game give a or take some points. [player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] was great all night for Slope and [player_tooltip player_id='1150822' first='Cameron' last='Holmes'] led Millennium. Slope led by 3 at halftime and 5 after the 3rd quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='1758998' first='Owen' last='Hillis'] was great off the bench and made some big plays in the 2nd half but the biggest play of the game belonged to [player_tooltip player_id='1482165' first='Rider' last='Portela']. He stole the ball down the stretch to essentially seal the win for the Vikings at 58-53.

The second game had #1 seed Perry taking on #5 seed Sandra Day O'Connor. The game started closely with a slim Perry leads after the 1st quarter but Perry broke the game open with a 23-10 2nd quarter and led 39-22 at halftime. [player_tooltip player_id='1588005' first='Trey' last='Mckinney'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2281701' first='Bruce' last='Branch III'] were playing well. [player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] came in off the bench and put his stamp on the game per usual despite his injured right hand. The 2nd half was the [player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] take over. [player_tooltip player_id='1333492' first='Michael' last='Simcoe'] tried keeping the game close but Perry cruised to the victory at 76-57.

The 3rd game of course was the OPEN State Finals where the #1 seed Perry Pumas went up against #2 seed Sunnyslope Vikings. Another close game after 1 quarter but once again Perry took over in the 2nd quarter and [player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] flexed his skill and power along with [player_tooltip player_id='1351133' first='Dominic' last='Avalos'] hitting some shots. [player_tooltip player_id='1482165' first='Rider' last='Portela'], [player_tooltip player_id='1741167' first='Kade' last='Snyder'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] tried keeping the game close but too much Peat and [player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] in the 2nd half gave Perry a 63-44 win and cemented them to being one of the better teams of all time with their rare 4-PEAT.

[player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'], [player_tooltip player_id='1150848' first='Nolan' last='Brown'] and [player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] were on all 4 teams.

Here were the Final-4 & OPEN Chip Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] Perry

Peat was injured wearing a special brace on his shooting hand and you almost wouldn't even know it. He will score with fall aways from mid-range, which is truly his pet move, powerful dunks on the break or in traffic to go along with his elite body control in the air. One of his best skills is his passing and he is a high level rebounder who will often take it coast to coast with a tight handle for position. He averaged 18 ppg for the week.

[player_tooltip player_id='2281701' first='Bruce' last='Branch III'] Perry

The long wing forward had a good week. He scored with alley-oop dunks, catch threes, big jump stops into layups and a polished floater game. He is a really good passer and sees the court quickly plus defend. He uses his +4 wingspan to rebound and block shots. The lone non-senior starter averaged 8 ppg over the two wins.

[player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] Perry

One of the steadier performers in all of the AIA. He scores it every way you can with deep jumpers, layups in transition, finger rolls, dunks on the break, rip thrus taking contact well, lob catches into a layup and most importantly his super consistent mid-range jumper getting to his spots. He rebounds anything near him with his amazing hands and toughness. He averaged 22 ppg for the week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150848' first='Nolan' last='Brown'] Perry

A tough undersized point guard had his way in the semi finals with a jaw-dropping 12 assists and 6 steals. He has real speed in the open court and will slice the defense up with pinpoint passes. He will score with mid-range jumpers, blow-by and-1's to the cup and he is a true ball hawk on defense making his opponents feel uncomfortable.

[player_tooltip player_id='1588005' first='Trey' last='Mckinney'] Perry

He gave the team a big boost in the semi finals with 13 points when he got the start as [player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] came in off the bench. He scores with offensive rebound put backs, left or right hand hook shots, tough layups in traffic and will score with and-1's thru contact. He is also a very good rebounder in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351133' first='Dominic' last='Avalos'] Perry

The sharp shooting scoring guard did what he has been doing all year and that is spreading the floor for the talented bigger forwards. He will catch and shoot it from the three point line, use the floater game and he always scores with his back door layups each game. He plays a high IQ game and always within the flow of the offense. You will never see him take a bad shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555179' first='Darius' last='Wabbington'] Sunnyslope

One of the most skilled big men in the West Coast showed off his talents with catch threes, fall aways in the post, offensive rebound backs and he will crab dribble deep into the paint to gain position to score it close to the basket using his physical build/frame.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482165' first='Rider' last='Portela'] Sunnyslope

The Swiss Army Knife did it all the last two games of the year. He made some of the biggest defensive plays of the season in the fist game but then showed off his skill in the Chip. He scores with catch threes, tough layups in traffic using his long strides and athleticism and he always seems rebound out of his area but he will also block shots and collect steals in bunches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1741167' first='Kade' last='Snyder'] Sunnyslope

The powerful forward had a good showing for the two games. He rebounds at a high level and will score on put backs, hook shots in traffic, quick spin moves, mid-range jumpers and he even stepped out and hit the catch three showing off his improved range. His build/frame allows him to crash the glass and be a nuisance on the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] Sunnyslope

The dynamic scoring point guard had a good showing in both games. He poured in a team high 23 points in the semis and 14 in the Finals with fall aways in the post, floaters after he bursts past his initial defender, off balanced shots off the glass in traffic, catch threes and most importantly his mid-range pull-up with a high arc. That is clearly his favorite move at this point. He will also rebound and go coast to coast with his breakneck speed and thread the needle to teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482163' first='Cristian' last='Simmons'] Sunnyslope

A two-way forward will catch and shoot from the three point line but he is also steadily improving his defense. He will take a charge, block a shot but he is making it harder and harder to score on him moving his feet well on the perimeter like a bigger wing and can hold his ground inside the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1758998' first='Owen' last='Hillis'] Sunnyslope

A senior power forward had a game of a lifetime in one of the biggest stages of the year. He scored 11 points off the bench and all of them were important points at critical stages of the game in the semis. He rebounds well in his area and will score with ball fakes into a layup, hook shots and was truly their glue guy for the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150822' first='Cameron' last='Holmes'] Millennium

Arguably the top wing in the AIA scored 24 points to keep the team close throughout the game. Not only did he score the most, he also defended their top players all game long. He will score with blow by layups, quick drives to the basket, pull-ups from mid-range and he can also split defenders to the basket. He essentially did it all for the Tigers all season long.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301344' first='Kingston' last='Tosi'] Millennium

The steady forward can play both spots up front and will score with spin moves into layups with a very quick second jump. He uses hard ball fakes into a pull-up and he relies heavily on ripping thru and finishes with his bounce. He had a great season and career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium

A quick scoring point guard can fill it up quickly with his polished mid-range pull-ups. He alleviates a lot of the pressure with his ball handling, decision making and his on-ball defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150844' first='Quincy' last='Everson'] Millennium

A true combo point guard made some huge shots in the semi finals to cut the deficit. The team was not hitting too many perimeter jumpers and then Quincy rattled in two in a row to give the team some life. He also scores with blow by's and rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1333492' first='Michael' last='Simcoe'] Sandra Day O'Connor

The talented power forward did it all in the semi finals versus Perry. He scored 21 points with 9 rebounds 2 assists and an eye-popping 6 blocks. He will score with dunks over players in traffic, clean the glass and score on put backs, hit the three with range, he is very patient in the post with his great handle for position and then will crab dribble into the post to create his offense. He is also a great passer for his size. Michael is easily one of the best to put on the jersey at that school so far.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217315' first='TayVion' last='Wilson'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A sharp shooting lead guard will score with mid-range jumpers, catch threes, pull-ups from both spots, quick driving layups and make a play to a teammate. He gets hot very quickly and hit three triples in the semis. He scored 14 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1697292' first='Rylan' last='Parsley'] Sandra Day O'Connor

The tallest wing in the state from the AIA is another sniper from the three point line. He uses his size to shoot over the top of the defenders and has a quicker release and will let it fly. He rebounds well in his area and can throw it down on the break. He is improving his passing skills as he ages.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490240' first='Colton' last='Watson'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Another do-it-all wing point forward handles it really well to make plays and will defend multiple positions. He will collect steals, block shots and rebound. He will score with advanced body control in the lane, quick spin moves in traffic and he almost had a poster dunk showing off his bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1364143' first='Landon' last='Wilson'] Sandra Day O'Connor

The team's three point specialist will fire away in a blink of an eye. He is another player that once the first one goes through the net, he will keep shooting it and has a sneaky quick burst to get himself to the basket to score or to the free throw line.
