Tonight I was at Taft Colsiuem for the Division 1 Region 2 Regional Semifinals doubleheader. The first game was won by Reynoldsburg 60-54 over Dublin Coffman followed by Olentangy Liberty pulling away from Upper Arlington late 58-39. Reynoldsburg will face off against Olentangy Liberty on Saturday at 6 pm. This is my top players from the games tonight!

Fisher was the difference in the game for most of it. Reynoldsburg was having a tough time scoring in the half-court until the ball got in Fisher's hand. He was hot from deep. He made five big threes for this Raiders squad. He was able to stretch the defense out. He did a good job of catching and shooting but also creating a shot for himself. His ability to walk you down and shoot off the dribble was on full display. When the ball was in Fisher's hand good things happened.

Kropp was big for Liberty tonight in many ways. His play was vital for them winning the regional semifinal match-up. He was a mismatch on the offensive end with his back-to-the-basket game. His footwork and strong post-ups were tough to stop. He was able to get buckets for himself and others. Liberty did a great job all night of forcing UA to take tough shots and Kropp cleaned up for them all game. He got almost every defensive rebound.

Nwokolo was a big-time player in this one late. He made a big difference on the glass on both ends. He tipped or grabbed a ton of rebounds for the Raiders in the 4th that really killed momentum for Coffman. His defense was great all night. He has great athleticism and size for defense and fills that role well. He got going on the offensive end with some nice blow-by layups. Knocked down some big spot-up threes in the 2nd half.

Coming into this game you knew that McClure was going to be ready to play. He was aggressive and confident in this one. He did a good job of attacking his shots and looks coming off screens. He hit a ton of threes to keep Coffman in the game. He was the highest scorer. He was good when he attacked the pressure of Reynoldsburg. McClure did a good job of turning up his offensive scoring in the 2nd half. He was not stopped too much from getting what he wanted tonight.

Smith played one of the better games I've seen from him tonight. He got the scoring going with a three and you could tell by the way he shot the ball he was in a rhythm. He then got buckets from all over the floor for the rest of the game. He showed some really good touches in the paint in transition. Used his length to get shots off well. He has a soft shot. He was aggressive tonight and the Golden Bears needed him to be. He is a walking mismatch and showed it.

Cochran was impressive tonight. This sophomore has great length and seems to have the room to add some more inches to him. He started the game off by knocking down some threes. Cochran did not settle though like you see a lot with big young shooters. He recognized that the defense was flying out to him and he attacked close outs. He had good finishes in transition with his right. He was in the right spot defensively and used his length well. But he also is a solid athlete.
