2026 Northeast guard Prospects to know Part 1

These are a few guards who college coaches should known going into the spring AAU season.    Shepard is a utility guard with good shear size. His length allows him to cover ground with ease and affect passing and driving lanes to come up with steals. Shephard plays unselfish and can make an extra pass to his open teammates. His versatility allows him to guard different positions. Shephard can navigate to different spots downhill on the attack. He thrives in the open floor and can finish around the bucket with ease. Shepard is tracking as a scholarship prospect.     Carter is a wiry mile long guard who does a good job squirreling his way to different spots on the floor. He takes what the defense gives him and has an expanded floor game. He does a good job finishing through contact. His athleticism flashes on the defensive end and allows him to come up with steals. Carter has a quick first step which allows him to blow by opponents.     Trombley is a utility who does a good job hunting for his shot. He doesn't get sped up when on the attack and has good control of his body. He moves the ball well in the flow of the offense. He sees the floor and can make tough passes on the move. He can play on or off the ball. He thinks the game at a high level. Trombley is effective at the foul line. He is a frequent paint toucher.     Mansaray is a lead guard with great positional size. He has a quick first step which allows him to be a relentless attacker who is a downhill scoring threat. He has no problem using his runner when on the attack. Mansaray can be a threat from deep as a catch and shooter when playing off of the ball. He is very agile and can move to different spots with ease. When he is in a groove on the offensive end look out. Mansaray can pile up points as a bunch scorer. The biggest thing with him as a prospect is consistency he needs to stack more good days than bad days.     Fitch is a well-balanced guard who does a little bit of everything when he is on the floor. He is a consistent playmaker who has a great vision of the floor. He reads and reacts to different situations on the fly throughout the game and flat out knows how to play. Fitch finds ways to collect rebounds. He is able to come off of pindowns and initiate offense for himself. He is in the right spots to turn defense to offense. Fitch can score at the charity stripe. I would like to see Fitch become more confident as a three point shooter.
