Teams to Beat

Davis

The Darts are playing their best basketball right now. They are on a 7 game winning streak and maybe soon to be 8 or 9 and they might be the hottest team entering the playoffs. [player_tooltip player_id='1272410' first='Coleman' last='Atwater'] is playing some really good basketball and when this Davis team can hit from deep there is no team that might be able to stop them. [player_tooltip player_id='2530281' first='Croyden' last='Christensen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1278451' first='JT' last='Turley'] continue to impress and if they hit 10+ three-pointers in a game they are almost unbeatable.

Herriman

The Mustangs had their 15 game winning streak broken by Corner Canyon in a double digit defeat. This might end up being good for Herriman as they look to reload and adjust. [player_tooltip player_id='1369726' first='Cale' last='Barclay'] is turning into one of the best rising players in the state over the past 4 years. He is a demanding presence on the floor. It is helful to have a strong guard that is explosive like [player_tooltip player_id='1278442' first='Carlo' last='Mulford'] as well. Mulford also demands a lot of attention and that often times leaves Barclay alone. [player_tooltip player_id='1551401' first='Zach' last='Tanner'] could be a difference maker on this run because his length and shooting ability could easily become a factor.

3 Teams That Can Win it All

No disrespect to any other teams but let's take a look at these 3 that could make a deep run.

Corner Canyon

The Chargers are also starting to play some good basketball. They are currently undefeated in the second half of region play in what might be the best region in 6A right now and they have 2 more games to assert themselves into a solid RPI position. [player_tooltip player_id='1190620' first='Bryton' last='Valdes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1190621' first='Noah' last='Bendinger'] have been lights out. They both play with a high motor and a lot of energy. Then you mix in players like Mo Brown and John Tollman and they have been able to make teams pick their poison. This team is dangerous.

Bingham

Let's stick with Region 2 teams as The Miners have been playing well and they have been really close on some tough games but they seem to be putting it together. [player_tooltip player_id='2563970' first='Lucas' last='Neidig'] has been a pleasant surprise of a prospect as he has been huge for them in many games. Parker Sneadeker and Brayden Erickson have also stepped their game up. They will need a few more players to pitch in but this team plays hard and can over power teams with their speed and physicality.

Layton

The Lancers have been here before and they know how to make a run. They are currently led by Sophmore sensation [player_tooltip player_id='1724368' first='Karter' last='Miller']. Miller has been able to score at all three-levels this season and has been among the best players in the state regardless of class. He has gotten a lot of help [player_tooltip player_id='1568152' first='Sam' last='Romer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1942223' first='Jonah' last='Fullmer']. These two have been scoring in double digits and if they can keep that going and their defense holds up their is no reason this team could not make a run.

Dark Horses

It's hard to say that these teams are dark horses but they are teams that could battle their way all the way to the ship and it is because they have players that they can rely on.

Lone Peak

Lone Peak once again has played well through the gauntlet of Region 3. With [player_tooltip player_id='1316136' first='Jackson' last='Taylor'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1724365' first='Crew' last='Fotheringham'] they will always have a chance. Taylor is a player that could get hot and go off from deep. Fotheringham has the skill set to take over a game. [player_tooltip player_id='1579163' first='Austin' last='Simon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2218119' first='Enoch' last='Mitchell'] have been great as they do have good guard play. [player_tooltip player_id='1421826' first='Ty' last='Easton Cogswell'] ahs pitched in with 5 PPG. If Lone Peak can control the glass they have a strong chance to run teams out of the gym.

Westlake

With one of the most underrated backcourts in the state Westlake is set to make a run and they will need [player_tooltip player_id='1571770' first='Symon' last='Sua'] and Gradyin Anderson to really take control. The best part about it, is that they have been doing it all year long. Westlake will be a tough out. [player_tooltip player_id='1724364' first='Malik' last='Sika'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1571764' first='Kyler' last='Hadfield'] will need to be on their A-game and that is more than doable for this team.
