Finally on day four the fine folks that operate the event were able to put on a full day of games. With only a couple changes in schedule, the day started and ended strong with great competition and games.

Magnolia continued their recent momentum and jumped all over Wirt County very early and never looked back. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='2776495' first='Dubale' last='Greathouse'], Magnolia put constant defensive pressure on Wirt ball handlers and did a great job keeping them outta the paint. Greathouse put up 23 points and an impressive 8 rebounds for the senior guard. Meanwhile [player_tooltip player_id='2303408' first='Kingston' last='Christen'] dropped 20 to stretch the Tigers defense a bit more and create matchup problems. The bright spot for Wirt was [player_tooltip player_id='2776492' first='Tyler' last='Smith'] who had 14 points including an impressive dunk driving down the right side of the lane. Magnolia perimeter defense held Wirt to 1-14 shooting beyond the arc.

TYLER VS. TRINITY CHRISTIAN

Much like their neighbor Magnolia, Tyler jumped all over Trinity early and often using pressure with a full court pressure and tempo on offense. [player_tooltip player_id='2337624' first='Brody' last='Giovinazzo'] was on absolute fire from the get go scoring the Knights first eight points. Once the Trinity defense adjusted then [player_tooltip player_id='2337625' first='Brady' last='Strode'] took over and put the Knights on cruise control. Giovinazzo set the nets afire shooting 9-14 including 5-9 from beyond the arc and closed the game with 23 points for the day while Strode added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='2776572' first='Garrett' last='Bordenkircher'] also chipped in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Trinity's [player_tooltip player_id='2686841' first='Austin' last='Porta'] was their lone bright spot as he poured in a game high 30 points on 14-29 shooting.

In what many thought would be a blowout win for the Rebels, turned out to be a barn burner in the day's third stanza. Ritchie jumped all over the Dragons early but the inexperienced but tough minded group from Marshall County scrapped and eventually only fell by four. Ritchie's do it all [player_tooltip player_id='2211908' first='Isaac' last='Hodges'] did his usual dance scoring 27 and grabbing 6 rebounds and registering a couple blocks. Hodges was the matchup problem that Cameron simply had no answer for at any point of the game. Cameron's [player_tooltip player_id='2382666' first='Mason' last='Scott'] put the team on his shoulders and nearly led an upset win scoring 26 in the losing effort.

RIPLEY VS BUCKANNON UPSHUR

What we thought would be an up and down game on the 70's ended up being a slow down and grind it out effort by both teams. B-U had entered with some considerable momentum having some solid wins recently and great outings by [player_tooltip player_id='2715910' first='Jerin' last='Westfall'] and Thursday was no different. Westfall had 18 points on a very 6-9 shooting from the field, 1-2 from three and 5-6 from the line. Westfall has certainly been the mainstay for the Bucs as of late and an impressive player throughout the season. Ripley who was a bit undersized but not outplayed was led by junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2776700' first='Blake' last='Justice'] who scored 16 on 5-12 shooting. Ripley's defense was the difference as they forced a whopping 17 turnovers while only committing 5 of their own.

Once this game was announced, as Boyd County took the place of Washington High, many heard the name and assumed they'd come in and boat race the Black Eagles of South Charleston. The squad from SC had different ideas, especially [player_tooltip player_id='2679289' first='Malcolm' last='Brown'] who turned in what is possibly his career performance not just statistically but also with the level of competition he did it against. Brown punished the Kentucky team with 20 points and a team high ten rebounds shooting 3-6 from three and 4-5 from the free throw line. Browns surge in production has made the team from SC dangerous lately and taken the scoring pressure off of other teammates. [player_tooltip player_id='2375169' first='Elijah' last='Martin'] also had one of the bigger games of his career scoring 20 points and grabbing 7 rebounds while being the only player for the Black Eagles to play all 32 minutes. [player_tooltip player_id='2243481' first='De'Shad' last='Williams'] was also able to add 18 points to help push SC to victory. Boyd County's division I prospect Jacob Spurlock was held to 20 points by the SC defense with Youngstown State in the house watching.

The final game of day four and the final game of the event featured two teams that are more than familiar with playing in the Charleston Coliseum down the street in downtown Charleston, however this day had them slated to play the nightcap in the event. Parkersburg South had control early and kept their momentum throughout. [player_tooltip player_id='2500111' first='Matthew' last='Mullen'] finished the contest with 17 points and 11 rebounds using his size to exploit some mismatches by the defense. Mullen was joined by [player_tooltip player_id='1851877' first='Harry' last='Silvis'] with 15 and [player_tooltip player_id='2208827' first='Navi' last='Hewitt'] with a dozen. South defense held the Highlanders to 30% shooting which was the biggest factor in the win.
