Recent Evaluations - Guards Part 2

We've seen a lot of high quality guard play as of late, so we added a Part 2 in order to give you some more prospect evaluations at the position. He did some big time work off the wing, including 3 triples. One of those wing 3's was a highlight reel off balance shot. Woodson was a willing passer that had his eyes up the floor and was willing to push the pace with the pass. He was a big time asset on both ends of the floor with his tough perimeter defense.     Rychener showed some game in the contest against Ann Arbor Skyline. He was what I would call a crafty scorer. Rychener ripped through the defense with a power dribble and finished with a fall away jumper. He then used a shot fake underneath to send the defender by and laid the ball in. Rychener saw space underneath the rim, collected the pass and picked up a bucket.     Solomon is a really talented point guard that next level schools are going to want to see. He was well rounded offensively. Solomon when coast to coast with the ball, beating the defense down the floor and finishing with a righty layup. He used change of speed on the bounce to get a step on his defender and again finished with a right handed layup. Solomon attacked baseline and finished at the rim and showed his shooting range with a catch and shoot triple. Late in the game, he drove the lane, used the jump stop and finished off 2 feet.     Cantu is a player that I've been familiar with for a long time. He's always been a high IQ player that puts the team first. Well, he's still that type of player. Cantu can handle the ball and shoot at a high level. That being said, he swings the ball and doesn't over dribble and also recognized good looks at the rim.     Murphy had a definite impact on the game when we saw him play. He made some big plays. In the first half, Murphy was able to draw a foul on a 3 point attempt. He drew a big charge early in the second half. Late in the game, Murphy hit a floater in the lane for an and 1. When he hit the free throw it cute the Skyline lead to 7 and gave Dexter some much needed momentum.
