<p>On Tuesday, February 4th I attended the match-up of #19 in 6A <strong>Williams Field</strong> hosting #25 <strong>Gilbert.</strong> Williams Field is easily in the 6A playoffs and are only a few spots away from making the OPEN playoffs. Gilbert has a real chance of making the 6A playoffs as we head towards the last few games of the season. </p>

<p>I checked out all three levels with Freshman, JV and varsity.</p>

<p><strong>Freshmen Game (59-54 Gilbert won)</strong></p>

<p>A long combo guard can hit the catch three and rattle them in. He will shoot the three off the dribble and drive and kick it plus find a cutter or up the court passes. He gets very low on defense and locks in to keep his opponents in front of him. He scored close to 20 points. </p>

<p>A long and quick undersized guard is a catch and shoot three point type with perfect ball rotation. He will also score with euro steps. He rebounds well despite being undersized and he is a good on-ball defender. He has plus court vision as a smart passer. He scored 10+ points. </p>

<p>A wing forward is the classic point forward type, He is a very good passer as he sees the court quickly. He will score with the three off the catch and in transition. He scored 10+ points. </p>

<p>The younger brother of [player_tooltip player_id='2107084' first='Adam' last='Medina'] is an extremely long power forward who moves fluidly from end to end. He is a natural runner and will rebound, block or alter shots in his area. He has good hands to make tough catches in traffic. </p>

<p>An undersized scoring point guard is a natural bucket getter. He scores with blow by layups, floaters and catch or pull-up threes. He is quick on defense and a is good passer up the court. He scored 20+ points. </p>

<p>A combo forward can play both spots upfront. He can face up to the three point line, dribble drive to the basket and he always seems to be at the right spot on the floor to score. He is long in the passing lanes to collect steals. He scored 14+ points. </p>

<p><strong>Junior Varsity Game (53-38 Gilbert won)</strong></p>

<p>A strong framed power forward is a great rebounder with a strong frame. He can score with euro steps, rip thrus and alley-oops with great hands. He blocks a ton of shots but his rebounding makes his game go. He scored 15+ points. He is a varsity type of player but has to sit all year with a double transfer. </p>

<p>A thicker framed post player can score and rebound inside with two hands. He runs the floor well, walls up on defense and blocks shots. He will seal his man to gain position and sets strong picks. </p>

<p>A shooting guard can score it or take it to the basket and plays at a good pace with decent size. He is a very good three point shooter and gets a lot of deflections and steals. He may end up a 3 and D type down the road. He scored close to 10 points on freshman and 14 points on JV. </p>

<p>An undersized combo guard who is a deep three point shooter and a good passer. He threaded the needle multiple times and truly plays from the neck up. He moves without the ball and will let it fly but he can play the role of a secondary lead guard. </p>

<p>A scoring point guard plays with a good feel for the game and comes with deep range. He can pull-up from the three and euro down the lane.He talks on defense and handles ball pressure well. </p>

<p>A very long, lean and athletic wing forward can score with catch threes, euro steps and he can create his own offense off the dribble. He has multiple moves he utilizes to fill up the scoreboard. He scored 12+ points. </p>

<p>The top-rated freshman in the state had a good outing. He scored 19 points on 8-10 from the field. He scored from all levels with high level mid-range jumpers, Dirk fall aways, catch threes and elbows above the rim dunks. He has great length to defend, athleticism to rebound and he is a very good passer making plays to teammates. </p>

<p>A combo guard who plays a lot of the lead role for the Black Hawks. He make good reads to his teammates and plays a cerebral brand of ball. He scores with catch and shoot threes, pull-ups and uses his size to get into the lane to score. He recently grew two inches and has a stronger frame to defend. He scored 9 points with 3+ assists. </p>

<p>A long and athletic two-way scoring guard. He collects steals in bunches with his massive wingspan, toughness and quick twitch reflexes. He will score at a very high level in transition with difficult layups using his bounce and hit the catch three. He is also a sneaky good passer. He scored 7 points with multiple steals. </p>

<p>A physical power forward with some vertical pop. He will score with offensive rebound put backs, alley-oops and get to the free throw line with his motor and physical frame. He runs the floor well and handles the ball better than most at his position. He scored 10 points. </p>

<p>A long and quickly growing scoring guard has grown at least two inches if not three. He will rattle in threes off the catch and uses his length on the defensive end to collect steals or get deflections. He will burn you if you leave him open. He scored 9 points. </p>

<p>A cerebral power forward is a great passer. He found teammates perfectly in stride with real court awareness. He will rebound at a high clip in his area and score. He scores with a polished floater game, mid-range jumpers and hook shots with a counter move. He scored 6 points with 3-4 assists.</p>

<p>A freshman big man with great hands and skill. He can step out and shoot the three off the catch with pretty ball rotation. He dunks the ball easily and will bang with the post players. He scored 8 points.</p>

<p>One of the top standstill shooters of the team is a true specialist. He will rattle in threes off the catch. He hit five triples as he is always shot ready in rhythm and scored 15 points. When he is rolling off the bench, the Black Hawks are a tough team to beat. </p>

<p>A scoring point guard who grew a little. He is a very good passer up the court on a rope and will drive and kick it. He scores with mid-range pull-ups, which is his sweet spot and hits the three. He rebounds well and scored 15+ points with 3+ assists. </p>

<p>A true scorer is a little undersized but he is a bucket. He has been leading the Tigers all season with scoring with deep ranged threes, ball fakes with quick bursts to the basket and pull-ups from mid-range or earning it from the line. He scored 10+ points. </p>

<p>A physical burly framed power forward played well off the bench. He came in and leans his weight on his opponents to gain position and go up with put backs plus hook shots and sweeping layups. He scored 14+ points. </p>

<p>Their starting five man is their other post presence on the team on varsity. The lefty has a nice touch inside and will play with his back to the basket and post up and score. He rebounds well in his area and just got back after missing some games. </p>
