Assumption jumped out of the gates quick, taking a 21-9 lead after the first eight minutes behind a great opening frame from Funderburk, who had 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in the frame. They took a 36-23 lead into the half, and after a quick start to the third quarter from CCA cut the lead down to 7, they were able to push it back out to a 15-point lead, 57-42, after three quarters, rolling to the win. Leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1759943' first='Braylon' last='Thomsen'] was held to just 4 points, battling foul trouble throughout the night, but [player_tooltip player_id='2511468' first='Isiah' last='Rose'] scored 27 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id='1552452' first='Synceare' last='Simons'] had 15 points on 7-9 shooting with 6 rebounds and 3 assists, and [player_tooltip player_id='2397362' first='Joey' last='Funderburk'] had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Rose was truly fantastic throughout the game, stepping up on both ends of the floor while Thomsen dealt with foul trouble. A mobile, long 6-8 combo forward who can score inside and out, he had probably his best game in an Assumption uniform in a win-or-go-home setting, dropping 27 points on 12-17 shooting, including going 3-5 from the 3-point line. He popped out as the screener and knocked down shots off the catch. He posted up smaller defenders and showed great footwork and touch. He rotated well on the defensive end to contest shots and rebound. In addition to his scoring, he had 7 rebounds and was a force defensively.

Simons was really good off the bench for the Knights, using his length and athleticism to get to the rim, pound the glass, and create plays for his teammates off the dribble. He had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, and made an impact on the game defensively with his length and positioning.

Funderburk was fantastic in the first quarter, scoring 9 points on 3-4 shooting from the 3-point line with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. He battled foul trouble for the rest of the night, but still found his way to 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. He was excellent operating the offense from the high-post area, showcasing his great vision and passing instincts to find open shooters or cutting teammates.

Jackson was really good on the offensive end for the Knights, controlling the game, running the team through their sets, and getting quality looks when the opportunity presented itself. He has a great first step that he uses to blow by defenders and he's a creative finisher at the rim with either hand. A quick guard with tight handles and great vision, he finished with 13 points on 6-12 shooting with 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

The future North Dakota State lineman was really, really good in his final high school basketball game, finishing with 21 points on 8-16 shooting, including going 5-9 from behind the arc. He has a smooth stroke from the arc, and if he decides to play intramurals at NDSU, he'll be one you definitely want on your team.

Umoren started the second half with a bang, getting to the rim for finishes on three straight possessions. He's an athletic, long wing who finishes well through contact, sees the floor well, and rebounds, especially on the offensive end, at a high level. He finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
