Beresford vs. Wagner: Player Notes

PHD took in a Class A South Dakota game last night. The Watchdogs from Beresford led the whole way and had control of the game, however, the Red Raiders put up a tough fight and made it interesting.   Beresford (11-7) hosts Lennox tonight and Wagner is done with the regular season, they will go into post-season play with a 10-10 record.   "We did a lot of little things right. Communicated well, boxed out well, stuck to our game plan and scout. We were consistent, we jumped out early offensively, and we never gave up the lead the entire game. We smelt the blood in the water before half. They were really gassed physically. Unfortunately, we couldn't pop the balloon. The lead got to double digits 3 or 4 times in the second half. They did a really good job getting set in their zone defense. Once again, just proud of the guys and their maturity. We could have easily settled and shot away. Instead, we made them work the entire shot clock on most possessions, and in the end, I think that is what won it for us. They always get mad for all the conditioning we do!
