Blinding fast point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1368094' first='Arnett' last='Hayes'] (Battle Ground Academy) committed to Murray State Racers...but for football. Hayes, the younger brother of three D1 women hoopers, caught fire as a football recruit during his junior season. He attracted immediate attention from college recruiters and played exceptionally his senior football season. Murray State University suggested he may be able to play basketball and football once he arrives in Murray, Kentucky.

Those kinds of verbal agreements almost never come to fruition. Often, college recruiters say whatever needs to be said to get a dual-sport athlete onto campus. Hopefully, Arnett is given the opportunity to play both as he is a wonderful talent in both sports and the Missouri Valley Conference is an appropriate level for him to thrive at both.
