3 Takeaways: Rockford Lutheran vs South Beloit

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The second game of the day we caught was a double overtime thriller as Rockford Lutheran went on the road to top South Beloit by a final of 82-77.&nbsp; It looked as if South Beloit had it, but back to back plays by [player_tooltip player_id='2823673' first='Mason' last='Keller'] to steal a pass then go coast to coast and a pull up 15 footer tied it up twice sending the game into extra sessions.&nbsp; Northern Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id='1385303' first='Ross' last='Robertson'] was amazing in this one, but once he fouled out Rockford Lutheran took control in the second overtime to bring home the victory.&nbsp; Here we dive into the game in <strong>3 Takeaways: Rockford Lutheran vs South Beloit</strong>!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rockford Lutheran Shoots Lights Out Behind 4 Guards</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was quite a show from beyond the arc as the Rockford Lutheran guards let it fly!  Class of 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2734406' first='Zach' last='Vanblaricom'] is primed for a nice boost in our next rankings update.  The 6'2” two guard impressed us for the second time this season with his elite shooting off the catch pouring in six from distance en route to 25 points.  Fellow junior [player_tooltip player_id='2823670' first='Owen' last='Anderson'] also hit several threes along with having a nice mid-range game for 13 points.  Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2409138' first='Logan' last='Currington'] made three triples, but was very effective with his crafty soft touch finishing game and layups in the paint netting 22 points.  It was [player_tooltip player_id='2823673' first='Mason' last='Keller'] who came up clutch down the stretch with his play in regulation and the overtimes for 13 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Northern Michigan Commit Posts 37 Points and 17 Rebounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the other side it was South Beloit star [player_tooltip player_id='1385303' first='Ross' last='Robertson'] having a massive outing.&nbsp; He recently moved into the top 10 all-time in Illinois high school scoring and continued moving up with a 37 point and 17 rebound performance.&nbsp; The Northern Michigan commit is an old school post that plays with physicality, positioning, efficiency, and touch.&nbsp; He sealed off defenders, got deep post position on the catch, and had quick moves over and over again.&nbsp; It was remarkable how well he finished through contact all game long.&nbsp; Runs the floor pretty well and is a great area rebounder.&nbsp; Going to be a fantastic player at the D2 level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Pair of Guards to Monitor on South Beloit</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Liked what we saw out of [player_tooltip player_id='2369677' first='Coltan' last='Porter'] from South Beloit as the 2027 shooting guard has a long and wiry frame at 6'1”.&nbsp; He can really shoot it from distance banging in five triples for 19 points.&nbsp; Senior Trudane Peterson also hit a pair of threes and the strong bodied wing converted through contact for 10 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
